DiorShow Extase Mascara Review
I’m so busy having my love/hate affair with DiorShow Extaste Mascara for the past month or so. We love each other, we hate each other, we want to fight, we want to make up…it’s been a whirlwind kinda relationship for the two of us.
DiorShow Extase Mascara is the newest mascara to grace the Dior family. With the promise of a ton of technology to make lashes look all high impact and incredible in a single stroke of course the Muse was excited. Promise me high-impact anything and I’ll be your best friend forever and ever.
The mascara is supposed to create a 3D volume effect while expanding lashes in size by up to 50% after application. See? See? It gets better and better right. Sounds like exactly what my lashes needed.

Mmmmmm I dunno how I feel yet. I likey and I don’t likey. Dior Extase features this wicked cool tiered brush applicator but it’s a bit of a pain to work. I noticed the brush tends to pull out of the tube with a big old fat gob of mascara on it. You seriously have to tissue some of the product off or risk a messy application. This is a tad on the wasteful side as if I am going to tissue the brush off each time I apply, I’m basically tossing out good mascara right? On a good note if you pull out the wand slowly you can avoid the drama I described above.
Tiered brush is awesome. A Japanese brand I use, Fairy Drops, features the same sort of brush and it really does work fabulously at grasping lashes from the root and pulling them out. I simply adore a good mascara that can get ALL my lashes in one pull. I hate struggling with the tiny lashes in the inner corner of my eye. Those pesky buggers are the ones that most mascaras miss. Dior Extaste does a great job of grasping the whole lot and yanking them upwards and outwards.
The formula of the mascara is a nice pigmented black. I did feel the formula was slightly drying on my lashes but nothing too badly if I used a lash primer prior.
So here’s where my love/hate relationship begins.
I like the way the mascara grasps all my lashes and curls them upwards and out. It supplies good lenght and juices up my lashes nicely however I failed to see majorly dramatic results. I’ve grown accustomed to seeing mega drama when using Dior mascara. I don’t blame the mascara actually but myself. It seems that I need to master the correct technique with this as I’ve gotten several really good results when I applied it correctly and several really bad results when I applied it incorrectly.
From the knowledge I’ve gleaned so far the best application technique is the twist and apply motion. God, I hate having to twist while applying mascara as I make such a mess but this will get you the best results.
Overall, I’m in my learning phase at the moment so I haven’t decided whether I love or hate DiorShow Extaste Mascara. During my better results it’s a likey for sure. By the way I tried to take a series of different photos on different days so you can see the various results.
Anyone try?
