Etude House Cleansing Dream Cleansing Oil Review
After my fiasco with toilet paper smelling cleanser from Etude House I was feeling ever so scared to crack open my bottle of Etude House Cleansing Dream Cleansing Oil.
Would it smell like toilet paper too?
God please no!
Jump!
Safe! No eau de toilet paper scent here guys! Thank GAWD! I’ve become completely and totally wary of trying anything from Etude House’s cleanser range because of that god awful scent.
Little recap for those not yet in the know….
Etude House is a range of makeup, skincare, and beauty bits and bobs sold within Korea and a few other select Asian countries. Since my original review on Etude House products they have since branched out to several other countries, exciting as I’m ever so hopeful they might consider the US market one day.
More news in the recap world…..
If you’re not using a cleansing oil to get your makeup off you’re seriously missing out on one of the makeup world’s greatest joys. It’s a simple, effective way to get EVERYTHING off in one single step! Simply pump out a few squirts of oil, massage onto your dry, makeup laden face, wet your hands and massage a bit more to emulsify the oil, and rinse. Done, gets it all off in one go.
Now good oils will attack waterproof mascara, eyeliner, eye makeup etc…as well as foundation, blush, etc…on the spot. Etude House Cleansing Dream Cleansing Oil does a good job of cleaning but it’s not as effective as I’d like on eye makeup.
In keeping with Etude House’s girlish packaging theme, the oil comes housed in a clear pink bottle with a landscape featuring an Etude House shop. Quite cute packaging, very pretty and worthy of display on your bathroom vanity.
The oil has a nice thick consistency that washes clean away and thankfully does NOT sport a toilet paper scent. It’s a bit citrus and very fresh smelling, nothing cloying or as overwhelming as I’m used to from other Etude House cleansers. It washes makeup away beautifully but it’s not as effective on waterproof product such as mascara. In this case I suggest using an eye makeup remover prior to going in for your cleanse, I always do anyway so it’s no great chore for me.
If you’re looking for a quick, simple way to get off makeup in a flash I’d recommend picking this up. Sadly, I’ve seen it online jacked up to $28 per a bottle which is way above retail cost. If I come across it selling anywhere cheaper I’ll definitely update this post. If you’re within Asia you can get it at retail which is where I’d recommend a pick up, as it’s worth the price at retail. At the jacked up cost you couldn’t really do better as Shu sells for $35 and $75 so honestly $28 is a discount at a bigger size for the Etude House but it still makes me wince that the original price is no where near $28.
Likey at retail, not worth it at a jacked up price.
