Etude House Cloud Bubble Foam Review

I do wonder, is it too taboo to talk about TP on my makeup blog? You know, toilet paper.

Oh Muse why are you bringing up such an intimate thing like toilet paper?

Well…it took me a very long time but I finally figured out what Etude House Eye and Lip Remover smells like. It smells like toilet paper! Um ok step back for a second and let me explain it smells like unused toilet paper, don’t want anyone getting the wrong idea here. You know I think Charmin is the TP that has that cloying powdery floral cheap scent going on…am I making sense?

I absolutely loved the Etude House Eye and Lip Remover but the scent totally murdered me. It was cheap, it was powdery, and it had a whole lot of floral going on. No likey. It took ages to finally pinpoint the scent and finally a light bulb went off and I realized, “hey this smells like toilet paper!”

Oh..I got long winded there for a second. I’m telling you this because it’s generally made me scared to try skin care bits and bobs from Etude House as a few items sport this same scent.

I took the plunge and gave in to purchase Etude House Cloud Bubble Foam and yes you guessed it, it smells like toilet paper.

Le sigh!

Jump!

OMG the smell is just awful. It totally ruins the product for me. I believe Etude House considers it a baby powder fresh scent but to me it’s toilet paper and terrible.

I generally love foaming cleansers. I find they are very gentle, don’t dry my face out, and are a great way to do a quick clean up when I’m not wanting to go through my entire “take the make up off” routine. My personal fav, as I’ve mentioned too many times to count, is Kose Airy Whip.

These are great. Very gentle on my face, mounds of fluffy foam that suds up and gets my face squeaky clean, and quite a nice chubby little bottle with plenty of product inside for the price. Everything about them is a love. It’s the perfect product for a quickie face wash on the fly without leaving my skin tight and dry.

But the scent….

God the scent.

Overall, Etude House gets a mighty yay for the Cloud Bubble Foam Cleanser but they need to work on the scent. I was hopeful that they might have a citrus scent or a light fresh scent but sadly no go. I’m trying hard to disregard how they smell but it’s a bit hard sometimes. I already passed one of the two bottles I purchased onto my best friend who likes it but also finds the scent a tad overwhelming.

If you like foam cleansers and don’t mind a cloying scent I’d rec trying but if you aren’t keen on toilet paper scented cleaners I’d suggest taking the Kose Airy Whip route.

Someone console me. I really wanted to lurve these.

Check E-bay for these as I’ve seen them around for purchase!

O.o I’m wondering just howwww did they get a powdery scent into a bottle of liquid. :/

The girls over at Perfume Posse have a trademark phrase for the that synthetic cloying powdery floral scent: TFA a.k.a. Tampax Fresh Accord. It’s that awful fragrance that clings to toilet paper and feminine hygiene products. Any fragrance that claims to contain “clean” or “laundry fresh” notes seems to contain more than a whiff of TFA.

omg ! what a pity… strange that some would actually consider the TP smell appropriate for facial products.. .. maybe i will pop by Etude house to smell it for myself.. haha..

    • the Muse

LOL ling I know. I think they consider it baby powder scent but to me it’s just plain toilet paper smell lol!

GO GO GO! come back and tell me what you THINK it smells like! 🙂

I just picked this up today at Etude House LOL! I hope the scent doesn’t bother me as much as it bothers you. =/

They have other makeup removers now but I picked this because of the bubble part. I guess foamy makeup cleansers appealed to me very much.

Thank you so much for this review! This is why I really love your blog. It has the widest array of product reviews. 🙂
