Jump!

Etude House is one of Korea’s cuter brands. The line is geared towards younger adults particularly teens but lord knows they make some incredible products that are worth your time well into adulthood.

They recently launched the new Etude House Lip Perfume. Actually, don’t quote me, but I believe Lip Perfume is part of some sort of new collection but I really haven’t explored much because I simply hate the site. Pop ups and other insanity really prevent me from exploring lately.

Packaging is interesting to say the least and may appeal to those of you who like cute cosmetics. It’s a medium size glass jar that features a very sweet, kawaii little girl on the cover. As I mentioned above I’ve noticed a few other things sporting the same girl so this could be part of some color launch. Etude House Lip Perfume is available in four shade/flavor selections. I got Grapefruit but they also have Peach, Green Apple, and Passion Fruit. I asked for Peach and Grapefruit I believe but one was already sold out. Actually I wish I had asked the person who purchased these for me for all four as they are wonderful.

At first glance I was disappointed as I thought, “Oh another balm?” Turns out it’s not just another balm. It’s extremely emollient, incredibly glossy, beautifully shiny and mirror-like, so hydrating and moisturizing, and just an incredibly ooey gooey gloss! Truly a beautiful formula, absolutely loves it! It quite reminds me of a Lancome Lip Gelee (remember the ones in the little jar?) but way more emollient.

Unsure why they deemed it Lip Perfume but I assume the name is lent from the flavor. As I said, I got Grapefruit and it tastes lovely. It has that tart, acidic taste of a juicy grape fruit. The color is a translucent coral and applies without pigment.

They are actually quite expensive for Etude House topping near 8,000 won (around $7) but this isn’t shocking in the least as I’ve taken note that Etude House has had a price increase in the past several months. Of course, by US standards this is incredibly cheap especially since the quality far surpasses the price but by Korean standard it’s a tad on the high side.

Regardless, Etude House Lip Perfume comes with a HUGE Muse Approval for purchase. I’ve seen them on E-bay ranging from $11 to $12 each which I deem very affordable and fair. The formula is amazing and wildly deserving of a haul.

Likey very much! I will be hauling the other three as soon as I can get them!

oooh that looks lovely! I’m going to have to ask my aunt to pick some up for me next time she visits the states! I love grapefruit scents. They’re definitely my fave. I have a hoard of pink grapefruit body splashes from Bath and body works in fact. I never seem to want to use them up…

Ooh, I’m glad to know you like this brand- the other day I ordered a few mineralized blushes/highlighters from that brand that are supposed to be good MAC MSF dupes. I’ll let you know how it goes! ;)

I don’t like the name. It makes me think of the taste of perfume if you open your mouth too soon after spraying :(

An ex of mine one sniffed my body spray, decided it would taste nice and sprayed it straight into his mouth! He was an idiot though…

kirsty your x sounds nuts LOL! yes some body sprays smell awesome but dunno if I’d spray them right into my open mouth LOL!!!!! :-D

me grabbing myself one now!!!

I love the US etude website they pretty much sell cheaper than ebay and other places…where prices are so high at times!

Reply

the Muse February 2, 2010 at 9:13 am

hey suz so worth a pick up.

That’s not the US etude house website hun :) it’s a retail seller it’s not officially etude house so just be careful when you purchase as you really don’t know who it is you’re buying from!

Reply

suz February 2, 2010 at 9:50 am

oh gosh! that sucks!! so you’ve never bought from them? you think they might give knock-offs?

Reply

the Muse February 2, 2010 at 9:54 am

hi suz

nope never. I dunno if they are I’m just naturally wary when purchasing online as so much black market around. Just be careful :) you never know but that is NOT etude house’s official site. I think it’s kinda fishy that they sort of hint they are affiliated with Etude House when that’s simply not the case. That alone makes me feel a bit iffy about buying from them :P

Hi Muse,

I am a EH fans as well. I just came across your blog when I am searching EH info online. So glad to know you and I am quite surprised that US ppl like to use EH products as well. I am from Hong Kong and I am also using the EH Moistfull line.

Currently I order the EH products online, directly from Korea, and help my friends to order it as well. I also hope that we will have EH shop in Hong Kong one day. Their products are really cool.

cheers,
sugar
