Not So Sparkly: Trish McEvoy The All About The Eyes Collection
The new Trish McEvoy The All About The Eyes Collection has me every so slightly puzzled. After a brief trip to my local counter count me even more confused than when I started out.
The new collection features a few new shadows with the promise of sparkle and shimmer but are so very subdued and are even part of the general catalog?
Count me confuddled!
Jump!
The collection features three new shadow selections which are the Trish McEvoy Deluxe Diamond Eye Shadow available in Crystal and Platinum and the Trish McEvoy Deluxe Sparkle Eye Shadow available in Demure.
A brief inspection of my local counter and none of the items were in stock. On further discussion with the MA and a bit of exploring she showed me that Demure is actually already a general catalog item. Mystery number 1 solved! Demure is simply re-promoted with this collection and dare I say not so sparkly at all. As per the picture it looks like a lovely shade of shimmery shadow but it’s actually very subtle…not necessarily a bad thing but a tad misleading with words like “deluxe” and “sparkle” thrown out there.
Now they did not have Crystal however the MA quickly whipped out Platinum, which again was part of the general catalog, and proceeded to swatch me up. Again, “deluxe” and “diamond” are pretty hard words for something that has such subtle shimmer to it. I’m slightly confused because where as Demure doesn’t expressly say “new” on the website, Platinum and Crystal are advertised as Trish’s “new” Deluxe Diamond Eyeshadows.
Whoa.
Totally a mystery around this entire collection.
Needless to say I left feeling a little empty and disappointed. I look forward to heading back to the counter soon, in hopes they’ll have a display with the shadows, perhaps the MA and myself are completely wrong but at this point I’m doubting it.
Oh well, sure looked fabulous in the promo photos.

P.S. Dear Trish, I hate the idea of paying $20 for an eyeshadow and proceeding to have to pay $15 for a case to put it in. Ouch!
