Reader’s Request: Skin Food Lemon Pack Wash Off Mask Review

I have a thing for lemons. I really like the tart scent of a lemon. It’s a little fruity, a hint of sweetness, but for the most part it’s tart and shiny. I likey the tart part!

Jump ahead to hear about the Skin Food Lemon Pack Wash Off Mask.

Skin Food Lemon Pack Wash Off is a lemon based exfoliating mask which is rich in fruity acids and meant to remove impurities and dead skin. It’s a wash off mask type so you can massage a healthy amount onto your face, sit around in your PJ’s with it on, and proceed to wash it off after 15 minutes or more if you want.

The texture reminds me of a lemon meringue pile filling. It’s a dense jelly that smells beautifully like bright, sunny lemons. So lovely. It’s sticky and a bit on the heavy side but it washes clean away. It could prove a little too much for sensitive types due to the acidity of the lemons, even I experienced a tiny tingle on my face and a bit of redness after I washed off. It’s not grainy or sugary but almost like a peeling gel of sorts which gently exfoliates as you massage on and proceeds, I assume, to eat up dead skin with the fruity acids as it sits on your face. It tingles a little bit, nothing scary or bad, but sort of a slight sting. After I washed it off my face was flushed and a little red so do be aware as I mentioned above it could prove too much for sensitive types.

All in all after use my skin felt quite lovely. Smooth and dewy and my moisturizer seemed to absorb easier. It’s not my favorite mask pack from Skin Food but it’s a very nice one to have around when your skin needs a pick me up!

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this pack as low as $9.99 on E-bay which isn’t too bad a deal. Sasa sometimes carries some of the Skin Food Mask Packs as well.

Okay Muse, you’re making me way fascinated with this brand! I ordered the cucumber moisturizer, milkshake eye makeup remover, black sugar foamy face wash and some tomato sunblock from eBay this week. I would have ordered some mask packs but I couldn’t find any reasonably priced ones at the time I was ordering but I bet I will eventually (I saw a banana one that looked nice!)… I can’t wait to get them! 🙂

    • the Muse

hehe jonnie 😀 Did you get your order yet? 😀 the banana one is loves! It’s nice 😀 I can’t wait to hear what you think!

I did get it! The eBay seller I got it from was even nice enough to throw in a ton of samples for me… one of which is the salmon eye cream which I wanted to try as well. I haven’t used the sunblock or eye makeup remover yet… the lettuce moisturizer I really like but it isn’t quite moisturizing enough for me in the winter. I’m very excited about it for summer though… it feels and smells wonderful on my face. 🙂 The black sugar face wash is great, not too drying. It smells just like you described the other black sugar stuff you reviewed. 🙂

All in all, I’m quite pleased with my Skin Food purchases. I still am definitely wanting to try some of the masks.

Sounds a little harsh for the sensitive types, but I think I’ll probably ask for a tester of this at the Skin Food store. 😀 I love reading your reviews on these wash-off masks, as they’re my favorite Skin Food products.

Any chance you’ll be doing reviews on the Black Sugar Mask Wash-Off or the Kiwi Yogurt Mask Wash-Off?

    • the Muse

hi ceriene feels a tad harsh to my skin and I’m not sensitive so def a warning for folks who are 😀 def test it, as I really like it in general not a fav mask of mine but a good one!

I’ll get to those shortly deal? 🙂

If you love lemons you totally need Lush’s Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. Not just for cuticles – great for dry hands, elbows and heels!
