The Muse’s Mail Bag: Bihada Ichizoku Cheek Blush Review and Swatches

Peeping into the mail bag today I got a few requests and questions on the Bihada Ichizoku items I’ve been reviewing.

Kelly from Washington writes,

Dear Muse,

I really like your reviews on Bihada Ichizoku. My friend was telling me that cosmetics are also available with this range but I only see you reviewing the skincare. Is it true? Are there cosmetics?

If you heard about this can you do a review of these items too?

Thanks!
Kelly

Hi Kelly!

Yes! It’s true! There is a blush and a few glosses plus a concealer that I’ve already reviewed from Bihada Ichizoku. Today I’ll introduce you to the Bihada Ichizoku Cheek Blush and next week I’ll tell you about the gloss.

It’s actually great you asked as I can warn you not to bother with the blush in Beige. There is one other shade, a pink as well but I only happen to have the beige in my personal collection.

The blush comes housed in a crystal clear flip top compact much like Shu Uemura blushes are, identical really. The blush itself is very nice formula wise. Not as chalky as many Asian blushes are but nice and silky smooth plus plenty of pigment. Mostly I hate the shade. Beige is a very boring shade of muddy brown orange that’s deeply unflattering on my cheeks. I purchased online and going by photos online it looked like a great dupe for NARS Orgasm, peachy pink and pretty, however that’s simply not the case. I haven’t personally seen the pink but hopefully it’s better than the beige.

The actually product, formula, and packaging is wonderful however the color leaves alot to be desire. Overall, it’s a cute little blush if you can find it priced at $10 or under however I wouldn’t indulge in it at a higher mark up, just not that big a deal unless you’re really having a hardcore craving for cute Japanese cosmetics.

Nice but nothing to get too worked up over.

Most of the Bihada Ichizoku Collection can be found on Amazon for purchase.

I hope this answers your question Kelly and I’ll be sure to have a review of the lipgloss soon.

I think you definitely need to try the pink. I have never seen the beige one but the pink color is a very sweet pink shade with very fine shimmers and the finish is hard to describe – it’s not like a discoball but more like a pearly reflection of light.

hey neko good? I was worried as after I tried the beige it got tossed into my makeup graveyard and just recently yanked out for the review/swatch 😛

I LOVE ALL your reviews on asian makeup. It’s so informative, and really opens you to different cultures, and their makeup lol. Thank-you so much for doing these.
Hope you continue to do them!

I think only you and Cosmetic Candy do them? Do you know any other make up blogs that do? Thank-you!

aw thanks roseline so fab to hear that *hugs* glad you enjoy them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can google and probably find other blogs that do Asian cosmetic reviews for sure 🙂

Hello, I just found your blog and I love it so much! I’ve always been wondering about the Bihada blushes but thanks to your review I decided against it – I also thought that the beige would be much prettier but it unfortunately it looks disgusting.

I also want to thank you for your article on where to buy Asian cosmetics – my favourite eyebrow pencil (Sana Naginata Eyebrow) is no longer being carried by Sasa and I broke my very last one yesterday! Anyway I searched online and found you talking about Jpmon and I have to say, Jpmon is the most amazing thing i’ve ever seen haha! And most importantly they sell the Naginata Eyebrow pencil so it has been an amazing day for me.

Lastly I just wanted to tell you something – I don’t know if it would help or not. When I was doing more research on Jpmon on other sites too I noticed that a lot of people said it’s hard to find what you want because a lot of people don’t read Chinese. Thankfully I do, but I stumbled across something kind of useful if people didn’t want to use google translate. If you click on the third category on the left you get all the makeup and skincare stuff right? Well if you hover over links on the drop down list that shows up, you can see what the url for each link is going to be if you have your status bar enabled. They’ve got most of their page names in English categories so I think it would help people look for what they want. It’s a lot better than google translate actually – supposedly eye shadow is ‘ingenuity – winks’ according to them.

Anyway this has turned into a super long comment i’m sorry! Looking forward to more of your Asian makeup/skincare reviews :).
