Would You Buy It? Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Boil, boil, toil, and trouble! They say the witching hour starts at midnight and ends at 1 AM kiddies. I guess this is the time of the night where we should all hide under our covers and hope for the best either that or it’s the time we should be applying our Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, if you’re really hardcore maybe you stash it in your witchy cauldron!

Question is would you buy it?

The Muse recently got a small sample of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate to test out but I found the samples irritating and messy so I purchased a large size bottle which set me back $42. Plus I know how you guys like to see product in photos and such so samples weren’t cutting it for my full review. Obviously, I’ve answered our daily question of, “Would You Buy It?” as I did indeed buy it.

I’m convinced I need this concoction in my life. Dude, one night, two drops, that’s it. It claims to be THAT potent at repairing and replenishing your skin. Obviously, a witch is responsible for this miracle in a bottle if it’ll do that!

The formula is a 99.8% naturally derived botanical elixir which works all night to regenerate, repair and replenish the skin barrier for younger-looking skin by morning.

Evening primrose oil which are rich in Omega-6 Fatty Acids, essential oils including lavender, along with snips, snails, and puppy dog tails make up the formula. Ok, I made the last three up but it seriously does contain primrose oil as well as squalane, a botanical lipid similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate provides a boost of intensive moisture to depleted skin. The natural oils promise to penetrate the skin surface to help replenish it. The formula works at night (or during the witching hour) to get skin hydrated, supple, and soft again.

So poof! Tired skin be gone! Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is on the case.

I brought it!

Review coming atcha soonish, gotta test it out a week or two more before I decide what I think.

Honestly, count me curious if simply one or two drops a night can revitalize this tired, dull skin that’s suffering from the Winter blues!

What do you think?

Would you buy Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate?

    • the Muse

hey jamie! I’ve been eyeballing it since the release myself ;-D I tried a sample but it was really messy and I felt like I was applying too much b/c of it, etc…so that’s why I invested in the bottle 😀 the dropper seemed like an easier way to apply, less mess!

Review coming atcha soon dear girl 😀 *hugs*

  • Melissa

Hi Muse! Eager to read your review! I’ve recently started researching/testing out several Kiehl’s products…would love to hear your thoughts on many of them 🙂

    • the Muse

hey melissa I never fully dove into kiehl’s offerings but always wanted to after trying out a great cleanser when I started my blog a million years ago 😀 but def will see what I can arrange!!!!!!!!

this is one on top of my list at the mom!

    • Tracy

I tried it and it’s very good, but I can’t bear the smell !!! Once on my skin, it makes it smell like burnt old plastic !!! urgh… I am a devoted fan of Kiehls and I have everything !!! The Rare earth collection is my favourite and the Calendula toner is expensive but sooo worth it !!! makes my skin soft soft soft all year long, no matter if it’s dry in winter or oily in summer !

  • Paris B

Ooh another new item! 😀 We’re just at Acai berry down here but I must confess this intrigues me more than the Acai Berry range did

  • TerriB

Hi there, I love your reviews!

I can’t seem to find the update review for the Midnight Recovery Concentrate though, am I missing it?

Or how do you find it so far? Wonder if it will work for combination skin type.

    • the Muse

hi Priscilla, sometime soon I’ll have it up, still testing 😀 So far…it’s ok, but not as great as I was hoping for 😀 should be fine for combo skin!

      • Priscilla

  • ariel

I’m looking forward to your review of this! I’m thinking about buying it because I’ve heard good things so far.

  • Ava Carter

BUY IT! I started using this product about a month ago. I moved to the UK and the hard water wreaked havoc on my skin and hair! My skin was totally dry, flaky, and was starting to look damaged. My skin is usually oily and its never been this dry before; even the oily parts of my face had a dull, dry layer. I really wanted to cry some days because i was so ashamed and embarrassed of my skin. My make up wouldn’t go on correctly…
    I digress.
I had tried everything from olive oil to expensive, high end “barrier repairs” when I happened on this serum. I figured, “Why not?” I cannot tell you how pleased I am. I feel like my skin has reinvented itself! This product is like little, silky, sweet-smelling drops of heaven for your face.

  • Alex

    Hey!
I was trying to find your full review but it’s still not available I guess…

I bought the MRC on Friday and Im happy with the results so far, I’ve noticed a brighter and softer skin, my only problem is that I dont seem to be able to use only 2-3 drops! it’s like… it wont cover my whole face and I have to use more or maybe Im applying it wrong.

    lol

  • brigitte

wow, i am so intrigued by this. i was using guerlain issima midnight essence before and it works great but my skin somehow got immune to it. i might have to give this a try. 🙂

    thanks!

  • Nikki

Hi Muse, I got intrigued and I am using it at the moment 🙂 Can’t say I love it but I don’t hate it either 🙂

  • Elle

I am WAY late on this! 🙂

I don’t care for Kiehl’s as a rule, but this product gets five big glowing gold stars from me. Everything from packaging on down is brilliant (seriously! I’ve never seen this type of eyedropper bottle before, w/ button, and it’s great!).

This is my favorite oil-based serum. I use four to five drops at night and apply liberally all over my face and neck (I have super dry skin, so I tend to use a lot of serum/moisturizer/what-have-you). It sinks in beautifully with no greasiness. The best testament to this serum’s effectiveness is the skin on my neck, which literally feels like a baby’s skin. I love the scent of lavender, so that was a nice plus.

    Will definitely repurchase!

  • Ling

Hi Muse; LOVE your blog–it’s a must have for me. So, what was the final verdict on this product?

    • the Muse

glad you’re loving this Ling ;-D and thanks!!!!!! no final verdict yet hun my testing was put on the back burner lol ;-D I’ll take it up again soon! xoxox!

  • sugar sugar

i am currently using this and i love it! i only need 2-3 drops for my whole face and neck. =) i use the dotting and patting technique to apply it and it did improve my skin so i’m sticking to it!

    • the Muse

brilliant sugar ;-D always so great when skincare is successful!

  • colleen

I have very sensitive skin and I break out easily. I typically opt for the dermatology lines for skin care; however, I have been using Kiehl’s Overnight for about six weeks. LOVE IT! My skin absorbs it nicely, just a few drops, it is not greasy at all..My skin looks great and feels so nice. No breaking out, big plus for me. I have actually been using a few drops during the day as a moisturizer, under my sunscreen – why not? I recommend this product! Try it, I think you’ll like it!!

  • Lubi

I am sorry but it broke me out like nothing before! I have combination skin and I used it only for 2 nights and I am covered with pimples! Not ordinary pimples but very big and painful! I usually have very good skin and I was so exited about this product as everybody is raving about it that I bought the whole bottle! very disappointed:(((sorry guys!!!do hope it works for u!

  • Nadya Sadri Mulok

Yessssss this is the one. Mom gave me a sample, lasts me a good three days! Beautiful smell, beautiful skin when I wake up. Kiehl’s is not available in Brunei, maybe online (I dont do much online shopping), nearest I could go to is Singapore. I love singapore!! I wonder if they changed anything.. It’s been 3 years..
