Beauty Abroad: Garnier Lightening Peel Off Mask Review
Ok, so I’m woman enough to admit I like to pick stuff, peel stuff, and pop stuff. Pop pimples, on that. Pick my nose? No, never but scabs? Aw heck yes! Peel? Sure, give me dead skin, sunburned skin, whatever you got and I’ll peel it. Yes, I am guilty of all this stuff. God…don’t sit there and lie saying you don’t enjoy doing this too. You don’t want us thinking how terribly dishonest you are because you won’t admit you relish the idea of picking that scab off your knee when you fell on the ice last week and scratched yourself.
My best friend once told me that he enjoys popping his boyfriend’s pimples…I just wanna get it out there that I do NOT love the idea of peeling, popping, or picking stuff from other people’s bodies however I have no such problems doing it to myself. Needless to say I never held Jai’s hand again after hearing he pops Mattie’s pimples, ew…not cool!
Anyway…I’m bringing this all up because of a cool peel mask I recently got.

Remember last week I told you about that Garnier Self-Heating Sauna Mask? Well, I also got a cool Garnier Lightening Peel Off Mask too! And yes I purchased it because it was peeling….slight obsession there.
Lucky enough the Garnier Lightening Peel Off Mask doesn’t suffer my wraith and has none of the crummy downfalls of the sauna version. I likey alot.
Like the sauna mask it comes in a single pack which you can rip apart so you’ll have two treatments. Kinda neat that the it’s packaged as once but can be ripped apart and used twice. I will however say that I’d rather see it in a tube as the packages are messy and difficult to use, get product out of, etc…
It’s a bright yellow mask that has a citrus smell which promises to whiten and brighten skin. As you probably already known lemon and such does successfully lighten freckles and the likes so I imagine this contains a healthy dose of citrus to offer that “lightening” promise on the package.
To use it, you simply apply a layer of the product all over your face. It’s sticky and pretty rich feeling but it dries down quick enough and tightens up as it does so. I leave it on for 15 minutes and after simply peel it off. It peels fairly easily and will come off in one try, no left over messy pieces, it whisks off your face fairly fast. It doesn’t leave behind a sticky film or a tackiness but a wash up with lukewarm water after is always in order.
It does ever so slightly erase the certain dullness my skin commonly associates itself with when it’s Winter. My skin looks brighter and prettier to say the least however the results aren’t lasting so using it in the evening you will experience a lighter skin come morning but it typically won’t last an entire week or even a few days. I can possibly use it two or three times a week but anymore and I’ll probably do more harm than good as it is ever so slightly drying.
Overall, it’s a rather fabulous little mask that has me wishing that it was a common find at my local drugstore. I picked it up at a local Asian store however it seems to be available at Sasa after a quick Google by yours truly and actually alot less, price wise, than what I paid for it.
Well worth a pick up if you’re plotting, planning, or dong a Sasa order soon!
