Beauty Abroad: My Beauty Diary Black Cherry Chocolate Mask Review
Ahh cherries and chocolate. I guess some folk consider it ambrosia, I happen to hate it. Cherry cordials? Gag me with a spoon. Can’t stand them. I swear they make me literally ill. I mean it’s chocolate which is ok (I’m not the biggest choco-aholic around) and slimy gross cherries inside so when you bite into it you get a surprisingly gross texture in your mouth that’s supposed to make you roll your eyes back in your head and sigh in delight?
I think not.
I like cherries and I like chocolates but the two together I’ll skip on!
You know My Beauty Diary combined chocolate and cherries to make their new facial masks and I honestly wasn’t so disgusted but more excited!
Jump!
My Beauty Diary Chocolate Sheet Mask is actually one of my favs from the brand so I was right on board when they cocktail’ed cherry with chocolate. I mean I don’t wanna eat cherries and chocolate but I don’t mind a sheet mask that smells like one!
And it’s a fail….only because it lacks cherries.
Here’s the deal.
If you already own the My Beauty Diary Chocolate Sheet Masks and you have plenty to keep you busy you do not have to go and purchase the My Beauty Diary Black Cherry Chocolate Mask as they pretty much do the same thing or at least I think they do.
The chocolate masks are a seasonal, limited edition item anyway so that alone may make you want to jump on board and stock up on these particularly because it appears the black cherry chocolate have replaced the chocolate from last year. However, I have two boxes of chocolate already and felt kinda ripped off indulging in the black cherry as it’s kinda the same mask?
The mask works as any standard mask. It’s saturated heavily with essence and is meant to be worn from 15 to 20 minutes. It promises to brighten skin which I find it successfully does. I find the chocolate mask always makes my dull skin look so much more lively, brighter, and refreshed.
However…..
I hated the fact that it didn’t smell like cherries and chocolate. It simply smells like the chocolate masks I already have. Kinda disappointed in that.
There isn’t any question that the mask is a great one and I absolutely adore it. Chocolate is one of my favs but I admit I was kinda disappointed at the lack of cherries….
You can purchase from AlphaBeautyUK on E-bay if you’re lemming some chocolate but just not the cherries. (Not affiliated with this seller).
