Beauty Abroad: The Skinfood Pineapple Morning Peel Soft Review

Sometimes in the morning my skin needs something a little extra to get it kick started for the long day ahead. That’s where The SkinFood Pineapple Morning Peel comes in!

Jump!

The Skinfood Pineapple Morning Peel acts like a toner but has the benefits of a peel.

What is it?

It’s a facial peel that sports a watery texture. Unlike traditional Asian facial peels which sport a gel formula, The Skinfood Pineapple Morning Peel acts and feels somewhat like a toner.

How’s it work?

Rather than rubbing it onto dry skin, you’ll be applying it to dry skin with a cotton pad or some facial cotton. Simply dose your cotton with a bit of the product and proceed to swipe your face. As you swipe you’ll notice that the product pills off in little balls (you can see how it does this in the below swatches) which in fact is the gentle exfoliating action that is removing dull, dry skin from your face. After use, rinse with water and you’re ready for makeup.

What’s it do?

The product revives tired skin in the AM to reveal a brighter, smoother surface. It’s a gentle exfoliating system that creates a nice workable canvas for makeup. It doesn’t make skin dry or tight but simply removes dead skin very gently and easily rather than doing so with harsh salt or sugar. Sadly, it does not smell of pineapple but sports more of a medical or chemical smell, this isn’t necessarily a bad or unpleasant smell but it’s not exactly fresh or fruity either.

Since my skin normally looks it’s best in the morning when I’ve taken proper care of it the evening before, I really find I do not need this however on days I am looking dull or got in late or simply skipped out on my hardcore night care routine, this is a great way to get my skin back under control and erases signs of fatigue and dullness.

Overall, the peel is fabulous but I do find I don’t use it nearly as much I’d like to as I simply forget to use it since I head right into the shower and use whatever is gracing my shower shelves at the moment. Since this isn’t shower friendly it gets pushed to the side alot. I actually wish I’d use it more as I like the results very much.

Quite nice and worth a haul.

I’ll even go so far as to slap a Muse Approval on it!

Skinfood is a brand sold exclusively in Korea and a few select Asian countries however E-bay is a good place to start searching for decently priced products.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Since you mentioned your bathroom shelves, it would be really exciting to let us have a look at them 😀 What about a ‘3D’ photo walk through your bathroom?

hi there, u probably kno by now that i’m a skinfood junkie. hehehehe.
mum sent a parcel full of skinfood stuff, including a pineapple peeling serum.
on the bottle it does say that its best used after ur pineapple morning peel soft. i guess i forgot to ask mum to buy this.
anyhow, just used the serum once.. today. watery texture, feels like my skin just drink it up leaving my skin kinda bare & dry, making me hafta apply moisturiser on top. thats how it is anyways. and i’ve got a new moisturiser as well from the parcel: skinfood parsley & mandarin cream.. jellylike texture, love the smell. its currently early autumn & still hot. i’ve been waiting for this a long time fr mum coz my skin is breaking up a little lately.

Talking of Skinfood, you’ve completely spoilt my local Skinfood girls! They recognise me from the mahoosive hauls I do on your behalf and they get all excited when they recognise me coming in because they think they’re got another big sale upcoming. I went in to buy a liptint last night and the disappointment on their faces when I took the one item up to the cash register was hilarious. They all recognised me and buzzed around me like flies which made my companion rather alarmed.

ooh, my friend got the pineapple body peel and we all tried it out – so fun hehe. I really want to try out the lip scrub because the weather here makes for scarily chapped lips. 🙁

    • the Muse

      hey rachel!

the masks are all great, the cucumber lettuce range is hg for me, any and all of the eye creams are fab for people with extra dry eyes, pretty much everything from skin food is a win 😀

have you ever heard of the LORAC makeupPREP Gentle Skin Resufacer? I just kinda came across it and thought it sounded similar to the pineapple peel in function (but pricier and with fancier words lol).
