Beauty on a Budget: Essence Volume & Gloss Lipgloss Review and Swatches
Little cheap-o gloss coming at you today dears. Granted I use cheap-o as form of flattery as it’s cheap and it’s pretty nice too for the price.
Gotta love quality and cheap right? It’s quite like combining apples and oranges!

As you know….oh god must I remind you again? Ahem…as you know German brand, Essence, has launched a line of stupid affordable cosmetics at Ulta. Like OMG too cheap for words. For example this Essence Volume & Gloss Lipgloss set me back a mere two bucks, see told you it was cheap!
I actually like this, it isn’t bad at all. So far, my experience with Essence glosses is proving quite alright (aside from a bad color experience). Main reason I likey? Good applicator. Seems all the glosses I’ve tried so far sport the same large slanted sponge applicator. The applicator has alot less “fuzzy” sponge going on than a MAC one and is longer so it saturates super well with product. Loves!
On the up side Essence Volume & Gloss Lipgloss is a nice gloss. Feels quite moisturizing on your lips, leaves behind a bit of shine, plus it’s cheap.
On the down side it has a weird fruity taste that’s dominated by eucalyptus so you kinda feel like you’re having a tasting experience with a jar of Vicks. It doesn’t plump…although it does promise as such it doesn’t really offer much in the way of plumping lips up. And lastly it really has bad wear time. I’d say it’ll stay on 30 minutes tops before you need to whip it out for a refresh.
The gloss comes in six shades. I got mine in Crazy About You which is red however it applies sheer with little to no color. I think it’s safe to say the other shades will apply the same way.
Overall, it’s not going to change my lip gloss life but if you’re seeking a little bit of a budget gloss find, maybe something you can stash in your desk drawer, or for quickie touch ups, I wouldn’t let Essence Volume & Gloss Lipgloss pass you by.
Quite nice, nothing amazing, but nice none the less.
