Beauty on a Budget: Jesse’s Girl Stardust Powder Eye Shadow Review and Swatches
I just want you to all know that I still think that chick from the Jesse’s Girl video is a nutter. Seriously? She wants to be Jesse’s Girl when she could be Rick’s girl? I’d totally choose Rick for the record. Jesse isn’t even cute with that floppy hair he has going on! WTH!? That girl is loco I tell you!
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
No worries Rick, you don’t need Jesse’s Girl you can have me!
Of course this is circa 1980’s as Rick Springfield the new millennium is not pretty. Sometimes botox does not do a body good.
Speaking of Jesse’s Girl….
Jump!
I got so many requests to haul out the Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics it was obscene. LOTS of reader’s asking that I please review the line….
So go right ahead and start doing the happy dance as finally I’m bringing you the much requested reviews.
Let’s start with the Jesse’s Girl Stardust Powder Eye Shadow. Since we seem to all like a little bit of a deal lately, these might appeal for the price.
At $4.49 each these are quite a cute little pigmented shadow housed in a sweet mirror compact with a sparkling star on the lid. BTW Dear Rite Aid you suck for placing the price tag on the front of these. I spent the better part of an hour trying to gently pick the price tag off, only to leave behind a sticky residue that completely ruined the uber cute cases….hello great way to tick off makeup junkies!
Anyway.
The cases are super sweet although a magnet for finger prints grrr! The shadows inside are buttery smooth, beautifully pigmented, and blend quite dreamy. For the price you’ll probably be hard pressed to locate such a nice shadow at your local drugstore in all honesty or at least in my experience.
There are a total of six shades, I have three but I’ve always wanted to haul the others as they are truly a nice little shadow. The only thing that prevents me is the finish is slightly frosty and frost and me don’t do well together. Aside from that they have a subtle little sparkle that’s very pretty. I do notice a bit of creasing towards the end of the day even after a proper prep and prime using my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion but nothing too terrible. The shades I have are Glow (Buttery Yellow), Champagne (Beige), and Penny Pink (Coppery Pink). For my look below I used Champagne as an all over color wash and Penny Pink in the crease.
Overall, for the under $5 buck price tag I’d say they are a go. I’m gonna throw it out there and say total Muse Approval for purchase. The shadow formula is a winner plus the packaging is quite sweet, can’t really beat it in my opinion particularly for beauty junkies seeking the cheap.
You can head to Rite Aid for Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics or right to their website at www.jessesgirlcosmetics.com.
Are you Jesse’s Girl?
Or Rick’s…
I’m so a Rick Girl!
