Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Concealer Review and Swatches

Hey kids!

Word to the wisest, Bourjois Mineral Matte Foundation is at ASOS. w00t! They ship to the US for a flat rate of $6 so if you’ve been gagging to try it since my original review, you might wanna haul butt over and purchase.

Speakin’ of Bourjois, remember the Healthy Mix Concealer I was lemming? I has it!

Jump!

Finally Bourjois gets in the game and releases a fully pigmented concealer. That click pen concealer they have was doing nothing for these tired eyes.

Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Concealer is a fruity therapy correcting concealer…who even knows what the hell that means but you gotta admit adding fruity and therapy into the same sentence kinda makes you laugh right?

So…

The Good….

Fabulously pigmented! Finally Bourjois gets it right! I’ve had little success with their concealer in regards to pigment and finally they got a formula that’s pretty darn pigmented. This definitely sports some serious pigmentation and should conceal those problem areas under your eyes and leave behind a nice flawless finish. The formula is nicely moisturizing, very rich so a little goes a long way, and blends easily. It sports a fresh scent, I know you wanted a fruity scent didn’t you? Me too! But sadly it’s simply a fresh pleasant sorta smell.

The Bad…

It does a good job of concealing my fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, no doubt on that. It blends well and doesn’t crease or cake however something is missing. I can’t put my finger on it but I’m not entirely impressed by the concealer. I should mention I purchased the lightest shade as I was afraid the second shade would be too beige. The light shade could be one reason I’m not liking it as it doesn’t look as natural as I’d like. But, color aside, I’m just not completely feeling the love for this. 7 which after conversion isn’t costly at all however it’s a really tiny tube, smaller than a trail size toothpaste. This shouldn’t be much of a problem considering the formula is so pigmented and a drop will do you well. This only comes in three shades which could present a problem for many however those with extra fair skin will appreciate the first shade which is a very light shade of cream.

Overall, it’s not really the best concealer I’ve ever tried in my makeup life. I can’t pinpoint exactly why I am not in love with it but I just feel like I have way better product in my stash already. I think perhaps it didn’t quite give me the fresh, less than tired look I desire when concealing my eyes plus the color was oddly wrong thanks to my second guessing if the darker shades might be too beige.

It’s alright, nice to have but nothing I’d repurchase again in the future.

Love me some Bourjois but not so excited about Healthy Mix Concealer.

Tried it already?

Love?

    Hi Muse! 😉

Just wondering what shade you’re using in the Lancome Absolue foundation that you raved about (a while back)? Their numbering system is wee bit confusing. I will end up trying it in-store, but I’d like to get a basic idea. (Don’t like to spend too long at the counter, b/c I don’t generally like SAs, he he.)

    Thanks!

    Hi Muse 🙂

Glad you liked it. For me the smell was a bit too strong, but I must say that I am very picky with how things smell 😉

This is definitely on my get rid off pile….

hi i just reviewed Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (and linked your concealer review). I am wondering if you have the ingredient list? and how this concealer works for blemish. Do you think it will work for my brown spots? they aren’t easily covered. i can see that you aren’t very impressed but it sounded to me more of the colouring issue. i need to know of its coverage. i need a hevy duty concealer for spots. thanks
