In the Muse’s Purse: Aquafina Hydrating Lip Balm

I never said I didn’t carry around one hundred and one different lip balms as I chase around the city in my merry little fashion.

I’m not abnormal, I can list at least ten other people I know who carry around the same amount of balms with them….maybe, kinda…sorta.

In the Muse’s Purse at the moment, Aquafina Hydrating Lip Balm makes a special guest starring appearance.

Jump!

Just for the record, Aquafinia Lip Oil holds the trump card for awesome however I’m still loving Aquafina Hydrating Lip Balm for quickie touch ups on the go.

I generally like toting around these guys with me for a few reasons one of which is because I’m anally inclined to apply and reapply lip balm anywhere from 10 to 20 times a day…this in fact is a sign of makeup OCD and should be treated by a certified makeup doctor of sorts….I’m only kidding of course but the fact of applying and reapply that many times is probably untrue…it’s probably double that there number.

Anything that’s cheap and hydrating will do since I use it so much that something expensive would defeat the purpose as I’ll be going through $20 lip balm once a week at the rate I’m applying. Not good. Which is why a four packer of Aquafina Hydrating Lip Balm is a good one to stash away in my purse as it sets me back a mere $5 bucks.

The formula is a simple balm made up of jojoba and almond oils wish a dash of delicious flavor and a bit of vitamin E. I get a little tingle from these that’s refreshing and cooling. It’s not a glossy balm but more of a moisturizing stick balm which is great for hydrating dry lips or prepping them for lipstick or gloss.

I just like them because of the little zing they give my lips when applied as it feels cool and refreshing particularly on my constantly chapped lips.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. hi muse!

how was your weekend? well, i hope! anyway whats in my purse (or rather twilight tote bag) is Blistex DCT (daily conditioning treatment) its a really good lip balm,it’s not tacky,or gross, the best thing about it is it gives my lips a cool tingle that is quite nice. it doesnt really have a flavor, which is fine by me b/c if my lip balms have a flavor i will scrape it off with my teeth during lunch hour in sheer desperato’s of a snack.in terms of moisture it pretty good,it takes about 2 days for my lips (which are in the dry chapped category),to heal. & thanks muse for your website,it certainly makes me smile 🙂

    • the Muse

hi mercedes it was great thanks dear and yours? I like blistex for days I’m really sporting a serious case of dry lips 😀 LOL!!!!!!!! a snack eh? ha! 😀

ok not necessarily just in my purse but floating around @ varying points so as to be at my fingertips – co bigelow mentha lip shine (LOVE), origins lip balm, VS beauty rush lip balm (2 color stick thing-meh), yankee candle christmas cookie balm (surprisingly excellent formula), and VS pink pink lemonade balm (you had mentioned some days agos, also suprisingly a+++ formula). also really love eos mint stick balm and natural ice (!) for minty tingles, always a plus in my book.
i’ve seen these around and wondered about them, thanks for the good word muse! 🙂

    • the Muse

hey dina! I have ’em floating everywhere myself girl 😀 I like the yankee candle one too..just for at least the flavor 😀 I haven’t picked up the VS pink balms yet but wants too! and of course love love the EOS!!!!! 😀 my pleasures Dina love ya babe!

  • Ashleigh

I went through at least ten of the four/five packs. I loved them, but after realizing they had no SPF that I could see, I switched back to my beloved Blistex Medicated lip balm with SPF 15 in the blue chapstick-esque tube. I’ve tried everything from regular Chapstick to Soft Lips to the Nivea thing and I always come back to my Blistex.

    • the Muse

ashleigh I have a real addiction to the lip oils 😀 I keep going back to those!

  • Kate

Neat! I keep looking at these, but haven’t broke down and bought any yet. I might pick a few up the next time they are on sale. (I don’t carry 101 different balms in my purse, but doggone it if I don’t buy that many. I never seem to have a balm when I really need one.)

    • the Muse

kate if u can get the lip oils I actually rec those first! they are FAB!!!!!!!!! LOL 😀 I hear ya I prob don’t carry 101 either but hells yes I own that many 🙂

  • Daituf

I bought it in a 3 pack… gave away 2 coz i love it so much and had to share the love…
then one day i did laundry…
Only to find out i left the lip balm in one of the pant’s pocket…
    It melted 🙁

  • Angie Twe

Yes I do carry lipbalm around with me, even at home! 😀
I’m using a cheaper brand, lipIce and I’m liking it because of the smell. 😀
My lips aren’t that need for balm, just my nose that love the smell. hehe (:

  • Coral

I try using glosses every once in a while and lipstick when I go some place fancy, but I always reach for my lip balm. My new favorite one right now is Lypsyl. It comes in uber cute packaging and it really does make my lips feel so much better.

  • Ashley

I LOOOOOVE the original Aquafina Hydrating Lip Balm. I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the flavored ones. Worst part is: THEY STOPPED SELLING THE ORIGINAL IN PACKS OF THREE. The only way I can get atleast ONE original is by buying the 3 pack with 2 bonus flavors. Bummer for me =(

    • the Muse

ashley bummer? two bonus flavors is a good thing isn’t it?! 😀

    • the Muse

it is for me lisa, sensitive types might not like it, depends I guess and will vary from person to person I’m sure 🙂

  • Marina

I’m guilty of carrying around billions of balms and glosses…sometimes you wanna change it up 😉
I have a lot of the Liplicious glosses in my purse, my Juicy Tube, and usually just some random balms.

    • the Muse

marina that’s what I’m saying 😀 a girl needs a little variety in her life!

  • Marsha

I’m really loving these lip balms by vitamin water called vitamin schticks. they’re aren’t super greasy and they smell great. plus they are really moisturizing.

    • the Muse

sounds interesting marsha will have to keep an eye out never heard of ’em!

  • Reggi

omg I LOOOOOOVE the original aquafina lip balm! i don’t really like the flavored ones as much since they dont seem to work the same for me (my lips are chapped and peeling ALL the time and so far this has been the only thing that’s worked for me). i’m guilty of buying the 4 pack too and giving away the 3 flavored ones haha =P

i must find a place that sells the lip oils though! are they just as moisturizing?!?! =D i wish these aquafina products werent so hard to find =T

    • the Muse

aww reggie I hear ya winter time mine are constantly cracked GRRR! I LOVE flavored balms! I’m shocked you don’t love ’em 😀 omg the lip oils are so rocktastic! I think my sis got them at the evil empire (walmart) as I stole them from her and she’s the queen of wally world so I think that’s where she hauled! you can order online though when desperate !

  • Gia

Where are these??? I want one!! I have a Dasnai water flavored lip balm that I love!!! These ones look cute!

    • the Muse

hey gia you can buy at most drugstores hun or walmart, target, etc

  • Anne

Hey, should balms be switched every so often…like…do you get so used to one that it kind of doesn’t work anymore? I love these Aquafina ones…they’re all I use currently…and I notice when I first get them, I rarely put them on…the longer I have ’em, the more I”m putting them on.

    The Raspberry is my fav!!

    • the Muse

mmm not such my balms for me but concealer and skincare does that for me sometimes 😀

These are nice aren’t they!? 😀

  • p
