Lush Lip Scrubs Review: Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review and Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub Review

I admit, from time to time, I have joked about drinking a bottle of Lush Snow Fairy. Seriously, its terribly addicting stuff isnt it? Dont you want to kick and scream because its only available once a year? Why, Lush, Why?! Damnit we need our Snow Fairy year round! Why limit it to the Holidays? Its just so terribly cruel!

Anyway….

As I said, I do admit a time or time Ive been tempted to take a slug of my bottle. It just smells so sweet and fruity and gorgeous who wouldnt be enticed to take a little sip. But, even as a beauty junkie, I draw the line at chugging back shower gel.

Now I can actually eat my Snow Fairy if I want, the new Lush Lip Scrubs make it possible.

Jump!

Yes, well, kids I wouldnt try sipping Snow Fairy from the bottle but I dont have any problems licking it off my lips when its combined with sugar. And thats just the case with the new Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub is scented with Snow Fairy shower gel but no worries it wont taste like soap or shower gel , believe me I was worried about that. It actually tastes like Snow Fairy smells which is interesting. Its fruity, slightly sweet, with a tiny hint of bubble gum. Now you can go around digging through the glass jar and just eating it if you want, no worries, it doesnt have any harmful ingredients, however its not meant to be enjoyed as a snack, no matter how tasty it smells. It is however for rubbing on your dry, cracked lips to make them smooth and supple again!

Lush Lip Scrubs come in a heavy glass jar and are a vegan friendly lip exfoliator made from castor sugar. They contain jojoba oil as well however for the most part they are made up of a heavy dose of larger grains of sugar. Most lip scrubs Ive had the pleasure of trying are either oily or more of a paste however Lushs version is very much a sugary exfoliator. The formula could prove a little messy to deal with since it falls off your lips in crumbs and clumps however you might want to try applying a little Rosebud Salve prior to scrubbing so the sugar has more of a base to adhere to. I didnt mind the “crummy” formula at all as it felt like it exfoliated my lips quite well and made them extra soft after use however the tiny pieces falling here and there could be bothersome to some.

The scrubs are available in three flavors. I tried the Bubblegum version which is scented and tastes like Lush Snow Fairy and I also tried the Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub. Mint Julips tastes exactly of mint and vanilla, very sweet, cool, and refreshing.

Overall, the scrubs are ideal for getting tired, dry lips back in shape. I love the tasty formula and like how well they exfoliate dry, dead skin off my lips, particularly when my lips are chapped. As I mentioned above they are slightly messy to work with but I dont mind in the least. The scrubs are a tasty little treat that are vegan friendly and pure bliss for my lips.

Likey lots!

Available now from Lush UK (ships worldwide) for 4.50 each ($7).

I have this scrub in mint julips and it’s just fantastic. It is a little messy but I totally don’t mind because it is so yummy and works so well. The first time I used it I even scrubbed a little too hard but now I’ve realized it just needs a light touch and it leaves your lips nice and smooth. One of my new favorite lush products for sure and I think it will last forever – a little goes a long way.

Have you tried the easter products yet? I’m in love with the Hippy Chick bath bomb!!! :0)

I haven’t been to Lush in like a year or so. I’m afraid I finally decided I didn’t REALLY like that many of their products, and with the amount of stuff from various companies that I use, I still have some of the things I had lots of (like Snow Fairy :D).

But I think I’m gonna have to go get one of these once they’re out here… Snow Fairy scented lip scrub sounds awesome!

  • Kay

Mmm you have convinced me once again! And the good news for me is if I order online they remove the tax as I’m not part of the EU, even though we’re not techincally exempt! Sneaky, but so goooood!

I bought this one and the lemon sherbet Christmas one. Both amazing but bubblegum is the best one. Half my tub gone…mostly down to me nomming it 😀

A tip for Lush Lip Scrub users–make sure your finger is dry before putting it into the jar. Because the main ingredient it sugar, if your finger is wet, the sugar will form a hard skin and will be next to impossible for you to use it next time 🙂 other than that it is a great scrub!! 🙂
