MAC Sping Colour Forecast 2: MAC Crush Metal Pigment Stacked 2 Review and Swatches

Hey chicks!

What’s new on Monday? Pretty crazy around these parts but never to busy for makeup!

I’m busy loving all over the MAC Crush Metal Pigment Stacked 2 released with the MAC Sping Colour Forecast 2.

Loves ’em!

Jump!

MAC Crush Metal Pigment Stacked 2 suffers pretty much the same problem as the Stacked 1 and MAC Solar Bits. A flaky, chunky formula causes major fall out woes so most people might end up avoiding these like the plague. I honestly can’t blame you for that. Working with this formula is a pain to say the least.

Disregarding formula I’m trying to enjoy the gorgeous shades that Stacked 2 contains which is why it’s more of a love than a leave. The shades are all so pretty but I suspect one or two can be easily duped from my pigment stash already but I’m not loving ’em any less!

I love the stackable design and find them ideal for traveling plus it’s such a nice size as it’s always so bloody hard to use an entire jar of pigment isn’t it?

Colors you’ll get include a beige, a coppery gold, a yellow gold, and a green gold. I felt like the best thing about the stack was how well all the shades worked together which is ideal for creating looks using the complete stack or separate or combining two, etc…

Overall, the MAC Stacked packs were a win. I particularly liked Stacked 2 best and deem it worthy of a haul!

Did you get any of the stacks?

Both?

Loving?

Hi there, Muse! How are things? Hope you are doing ok 🙂

I love the beige and the green colours, but the green from there looks like Lucky Green on me, so for one colour I am not getting the quad.
This is seriously one of the best collections in a long time, the lip stuff is to die for 🙂
    Well done, MAC.

And I think I am probably the only one loving Solar Bits 😉
Btw, some people say they are easier to work with once they are pressed. Might give this a try.

hi nia how are you sweetness I’m good just crazy 😀 I agree, very well done mac 😀 They did a nice job!!!!!! lol solar bits are evil, nice but evil! I hate pressing..ugh totally a nightmare for me, you should read my post 😀 about it! 🙂

glitter is NOT my friend! haha. I’m very upset about the new DKNY Be Delicious fragrances. I went by a local Drugstore today and found all three (!!) after not finding them at Sephora (Sephora Canada sucks sometimes!). After spraying, I was horribly disappointed. Although the scents read like they were going to be omgwtfbbq amazing, on me, they smelled like OLD LADY. Especially the purple one. And not “fun still cool” grandma, but “lives with 20 cats” crazy lady. I was so upset, because I really wanted to get one! Guess i’ll be sticking to the original.

    • the Muse

hey tohnia! I likey glitter a bit too much lol! aw really!? the thing is they have to dry down to get the full effect did you spray on yourself or a paper? grandma really?!?!? I don’t get that at all mostly very sweet!

Hey Muse! Thanks so much for your honest reviews :)… I was maybe thinking about trying the pigment stacks. I agree that the colors look absolutely lovely. But flaky, chunky formula? Not sure how I feel about that… Im kinda leaning towards no now.

    • the Muse

my pleasure sarah *hugs* the colors are rockin’ but sadly the formula is CHUNKY as hellsssssssss! you can break them up with your brush and blend them out but fall out will still remain the same sadly sigh 🙁

    Hi Muse

I’ve never used pigments before and would like to ask you whether you normally use pigments over a base or over eyeshadows or just on their own? Is there any difference between the metal pigments and the normal pigments in terms of texture/formula? Thanks!

    • the Muse

      hi caroline.

I normally use them as an eyeshadow but they be used over shadows, under ’em, as a nail polish mixed with clear polish, used on your face mixed with medium as a blush, or a highlighter on your skin etc…they are used for different things. I personally use them, when they are eye safe, on their own as a shadow. Metal Pigments seem to be chunkier and flaky their normal pigments however some of mac’s regular line also sports a similiar formula such as the pigment named kitschmas. I hope this helps 🙂

  • Ricci

Beautiful, but not my colors, Im more of a Blue, purple, green, pink Fan

    • the Muse

hey ricci only one our of the three you mentioned in this stack 🙂

  • Julie

    Musey,

Chunky like Lorac Glamrocks? Works, but with a serious spreading of the brush?

    • the Muse

mmmm julie great question haven’t tried lorac glamrocks but……chunkier I’d say. But nothing you can’t pat out ya know?

  • Lanye

I love these colors. Do you think they would stick better if used over a primer? I wouldn’t want the color to get TOO intense, so maybe a primer, and a neutral powder shadow underneath could help solve this dilemma. Your thoughts?

    • the Muse

hi lanye I always use primer 😀 but sadly still fall out around here. best bet would prob be a paint pot, that might solve the fall out woe a little bit 🙂

      • Lanye

That sounds like a good idea. I use Stila’s Kitten smudge pot under a lot of stuff and it seems to make stuff stick pretty well. I’ve never used MAC eye products because I tend to stick to the more conservative side of eye make up. I’m trying to branch out into some more colorful stuff though.

        • the Muse

lanye def! stila kitten is a great base 😀 aw go for the color! its Summer soon 😀 enjoy a little vibrancy 🙂
