MAC Tabloid Beauty: MAC Penultimate Eye Liner Review

Hey chicks!

Anyone haul it from MAC Tabloid Beauty? Guilty as charged, I so did not get a drop of anything from this collection. Just didn’t interest me outside the funky cool Tabloid Beauty packaging, loves me that!

I admit I’m a total tabloid junkie, love reading dirt and gossip on my fav celebs.

I was lucky enough to get a few bits to test out from MAC Tabloid Beauty and some are worth a haul or two if you’re a MAC girl.

Jump!

As for me I’m busy testing my hand with MAC Penultimate Eye Liner today. You know me always looking for that perfect liner that will make me into a master artist when it comes to perfecting the cat eye.

This particularly liner promises 12 hours of wearin’ and tearin’. Just dance, sweat, run around like a chicken without a head, and your liner promises to stay put all day long. As for me I’m just loving the super slim felt tip which I’m ever so hopeful will help me to learn how to line well and good with a liquid liner.

Le sigh. I so suck it at lining with liquid but try I will.

What did you haul from MAC Tabloid Beauty?

Anything worth your time?

Do share it!

If you’re in the neighborhood for an inexpensive liquid liner ($16.50) with a long wear time and a precise point, I’d say stop by MAC for a look at the Penultimate, might do the trick!

I love my penultimate liner. Its so easy since I can get shaky hand syndrome when i put on my eyeliner. I wish it came in different colors 🙂

jasmine guilty! shaky hand here! I totally can’t line with liquid! It’s like I’m handicap when you put a liquid liner in my hand, I become immobile and scared! I love a precise point, seems to make things easier, which is why I’m loving this ;D

I decided to finally give the Penultimate liner a try. I like my fluid track, so I was just not interested. But you know-I’m really loving it too! You can get such a thin precise line which just makes your lashes look thicker instead of just seeing eyeliner.

yay tracy! Glad to hear it 😀 I wish I was better at application but having fun trying 🙂

Blah. This was one product I wish I had returned, but it just sat in my closet for over a year, and now I’ll just do Back to Mac on it. 12 hours! hah! More like 12 minutes! Granted I have oily eye skin (I know, due to eye cream, but I also have no crow’s feet at 38 so sue me) So most eyeliners do run. Even the Fluidlines will run on me by the end of the workday, and most of these pen-style liners will not work. This Penultimate liner was almost the worst of the lot for me, serious raccoon eyes by lunchtime. What a disappointment. I hope you have better luck than I.

    • the Muse

aw sorry pavlina! I really don’t have the drama of raccoon eyes much but that’s prob b/c I’m overly dry 😛 my eyes are rarely oily so most stuff sticks around for a while 😀

You know, I see a lot of people raving about the Penultimate liner. But it just didn’t work for me. If I try and use it, it will end up half way down my face within an hour. I don’t have particularly oily lids, but my eyes are usually a little watery. Most liners smudge up on me because of it, but this one was one of the worst. I also didn’t think it was extremely opaque. And one of my biggest pet peeves is a sheer black liner.
Oh well. Serves me right for straying away from my beloved MAC Liquidlast liner!

karli really? this doesn’t budge in the least for me. omg liquidlast you need a glass of gasoline to remove it lol!

I enjoy the look and the ease of applying the Penultimate. However, I still prefer the look of gel and if you want that fine line just use the 210 or 209 rather than an angled brush. However, I have to say that if you tear up at all, this does not stay in place. On more than one occasion, I have left looking like Tammy Faye Baker after having a bad moment. It was bad so I tend to stick with my gel as it doesn’t budge with tears or sweat. Pardon me…girls glisten, not sweat:)

I really like gel too jennifer. easier to work with and like how it looks on! LOL glisten 😀
