Milani Secret Cover Concealer Cream Review and Swatches

Secretttttttt Agent Man! Secret Agent Man! My mate Martin and I are absolutely obsessed with Archer at the moment. That’s one secret agent that’s a hot mess. Anyone watch?

Seriously, we are easily amused.

Anyway, speaking of Secret Agents, anyone try out the new Milani Secret Cover Concealer Cream yet? Dude, you need some, concealer on the cheap baby!

Jump!

I was wandering around Walgreens right…I do that now, wander around drugstores, the best part about it is that the roof does not tumble down when I enter a drugstore anymore. Seriously, at one point in my makeup career it was rare I’d step through the door of a drugstore for fear the makeup gods would be angered and in a fit of rage would strike me down with lightening for wanting to cheap up my makeup regime…

Anyway, ’bout that wanderin’!

I was wandering around and they have a big Milani display. They revamped the entire display so Milani is no longer tucked into a corner like a relative at Christmas you’d rather not talk to. No one puts Milani in the corner!

On the display my little eye did spy the new Milani Secret Cover Concealer Cream for a mere $5.49, I casually leaned over, selected a shade, and proceeded to whisper in it’s ear how I was going to take it home and make sweet love to it. That didn’t actually happen but it’s good for the drama right?

So here it is a big fat jar of the lightest shade they had. I believe they had a total of six shades but don’t quote me. The jar is a nice size for the under $6 dollar price tag and it’ll last quite a long time with daily use particularly because it’s so pigmented.

It’s a harder formula concealer so if you’re a lover of less than moisturizing concealer that doesn’t have a ooey gooey texture going on this will appeal. Older and dry eyes beware because you do have to prep properly prior to application or you will experience creasing. With a proper prep and prime I thought it was a decent concealer. It covers well, offers smooth coverage, blends easily, and lightens up my eye nicely. I can’t complain much at this price.

Overall, I’d say it’s doing a good job of concealing these tired eyes. I probably wouldn’t purchase it again simply because I like my concealers with less of a dense formula but aside from that it’s pretty darn nice stuff.

In the vicinity for cheap concealer? Give it a whirl, can’t break your bank.

Anyone try?

Share it!

P.S. I know I’ve been off my game lately and my posts lack humor, details, etc…but I’ve been busy at my office. Hopefully the Muse can get her grove back soon.

Hey I thought the making sweet love to it thing was pretty funny! XD

Don’t worry so much, you’re fab!

And btw, why the heck do all the drugstore brands (well, most anyway) have to look so fugly?! Jeez, I know they wanna be cost effective, but really!

    • the Muse

lol cristi! tell me about it. milani rocks it but the packaging isn’t my personal fav for shiz! haha glad you got a laugh *hugs*

“Nobody puts Milani in the corner!” LOL!

I actually ignored Milani for a long time but checked them out after reading one of your reviews (buzzworthy gloss). I’m pretty impressed, I have to admit. Think I might check this out as an alternative for covering the odd blemish. Denser formulas seems to work better for that, and at six bucks, why not?

hehe chelle! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY awesome! love that gloss, hate the packaging though sighs! def agreed denser works fab on spots for sures and hells yes you can’t beat the price 😀

“I casually leaned over, selected a shade, and proceeded to whisper in it’s ear how I was going to take it home and make sweet love to it. ” OMG….THAT IS TOO FUNNY!!!!

Hmm…it seems like Milani is the place to go for DS makeup! I just bought the Liquif Eye eyeliner and you’re right- it is as good (if not better) as Urban Decay liners! I love it!
Speaking of UD, have you gone to Ulta? They’re doing a special: spend $20 or more on UD products and get two travel-sized eyeliners! They only let you select from about 6 or 7 colors, but I got some pretty nice ones- 1999 and Mildew. Some of the other freebie colors are Underground, Zero and Lust. While I was there, I also indulged in the Ulta Shower Smoothies; I got the buttercream/buttercup(?) and tangerine. Oh my goodness- the tangerine smells fab! But to me, everything is trying to be like Philosophy and though this was pretty good (I bathed in buttercream today!) it just can’t compete! Philosophy’s the best! 🙂
Wow, it’s been ages since I’ve left a comment so it’s nice to be back! And honestly, I still think you have humorous posts and I love…your groove!
    Lots of hugs! 🙂

Milani is the best! It’s so affordable 🙂 and while they don’t have a lot of variety, the pigmentation is really good!

  • Charmaine

I thought the song was Secret Asian Man! j/k, rofl
but it does sound like that, heehee!

I lovelovelovelove Milani and I’m hoping someone around here will start stocking this concealer, haven’t seen it anywhere!?!
But I find it I refuse to whisper or otherwise to it, roflmao!!! You are TOO funny!

They have a lighter shade. It’s 07 Natural Beige(should work for fair tones). These are lighter when applied than in the pot. Buzzwords on package that got me to buy? Oil Free, Fragrance Free, Waterproof, Long Wearing(in theory the last two mean it actually won’t crease even without primer), and Maximum Coverage. The claim they’ll erase age spots was a plus since I get occasional hyperpigmentation from blemishes and I figured if it’ll hide grandma’s liver spots it should obliterate under eye circles and the occasional blemish/spot.

I don’t have the urge to make sweet sweet love to it. I prefer to gently caress it’s firm yet supple body. Oooh makeup based erotica. I think I have a new fetish. Thanks Muse.

  • Fabienne

Would you describe this as full coverage? My dry wrinkly 23-year-old brown undereye circles appreciate pot/stick formulas (I’ve grown to accept that no matter what I use, it’ll cake, regardless of moisurization and priming), as long as it provides the coverage to obliterate the brown. LORAC, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, TimeBalm, and MAC pot concealers worked good for coverage with me. Could this be a match for those? If not, what would you rec? Im always on the search for a new concealer too, so I appreciate your reviews and good organization!

    • the Muse

fabienne it’s full coverage yes but not as pigmented as LM or BB. And not quite like the Balm or MAC considering it’s more emollient than those drier formulas. Hope this helps hun!
