New in Beauty: Lancome Color Design Matte Lipstick

Just for the record, when it comes to matte, that isn’t where the Muse is at. Matte shadow, matte nail polish, matte lipstick…I just can’t seem to pull it off, no matter how much I want too.

If you’re a matte girl though you’ll be jumping around in excitement at the prospects of the new Lancome Color Design Matte Lipstick.

Jump!

Lancome Color Design Matte Lipstick has reinvented the matte formula with a new soft and creamy blend that glides effortlessly onto lips and comes in eight vibrant shades. The credit for the new formula goes to a new mattifying agent which isn’t a dull powder but a light-diffusing gel. Excellant pigmentation ensures color wears for hours on end while soft waxes and emollients deliver moist wear, no more dry, bleeding color due to the matte formula of your lipstick!

Lancome Color Design Lip Matte is $22 and available in the following shades:

  • Red Haute
  • Posh Pink
  • Lucky Kiss
  • Plum Show
  • Corset
  • Pink Preview
  • Bronze Show
  • Stylista

This lipstick is a Macys exclusive and will be on both the Macys website this week and on lancome-usa.com next week.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

I’m not a huge fan of matte either as it just looks dry and boring – especially matte lipstick. And I hate the matte nail polish trend with a vengence! It’s just so ugly… I don’t understand it all.

kristina I actually kinda sorta like the matte nail polish…sorta…I’m adjusting to it LOL! but I can’t do matte lippies or shadows, I find them hard to work but these do sound somewhat interesting due to the non-drying formula!

Ok, I’m not much for matte nails, I only like a few of the matte Orly polishes I have and they’re metallic, so that’s kinda cheating 😛

As far as matte lipstick goes, I do like a few! I have almost all of the Revlon Matte line and I think they look fabulous on me. I also have a few matte shades by Silk Naturals and they’re awesome! Specifically I love Silk Natural’s shade XXX. It’s an ultra nude matte shade, but it makes my lips look HUGE! Perfect to wear when I do smoky eyes.

I’m interested in checking out a few of these Lancome shades. I mean, they have a shade named Corset. How cute is that?

I can’t do it dd! I look like a clown when I try lol! HUGE lips is awesome hehe! 😀 aw hells yes corset=AWESOME 😀

oh hello pretty matte red lipstick. I’ll take you home soon. I’m going to Las Vegas for some shopping this weekend and while Macy’s wasn’t on my list – I kinda wanna maybe sorta see the Laura Geller counter. (There isn’t one at Macy’s in Phoenix.) So I might just have to mosey over to Lancome. I love matte lippies but often find they are either to dry or not pigmented enough. In general I find Lancome to be perfume-y so yes I will sniff them too. LOL

melissa I don’t think my macy’s has a LG counter either how awesome 😀 I didn’t even know LG was sold at macys gasp! lol same for me with estee lauder lippies, they stink 😛 taste bad!

Matte’s been huge for so long, but I haven’t even tried it! I just keep staring down the Revlon matte lipsticks in Walgreen’s thinking ‘it’s cheap, so maybe I should just go for it…’ But I can’t see how it would work! My skin is naturally oily, and no matter how much powder I pile on I start shining through it eventually. And a shiny nose with matte lips just isn’t a good look. My only option would be to powder my nose, constantly, in public, and that’s taking the retro aspect of matte lips waaaaay too far. ;P

I can’t make it work at all tango 😀 LOL! awww about your nose *hugs*

About – LG, I get emails from macys.com so I noticed a (instert a happy squeal) an LG gift with purchase this weekend. But alas – no LG in phoenix and 2 in VEGAS – No fair no fair no fair. NY does have the real studio. Dior in general is not my friend due to their fragrance. Chanel and YSL are sorta fragranced but it doesn’t bother me. We shall see what Lancome Matte smells like…

    • the Muse

curious what it smells like too melissa as I can’t take perfumey lipsticks 😛

  • Ruth

I’m completely in love with the new Shiseido matte lippies. I want at least 2 of the colors from the Lancome matte line.

    • the Muse

hey ruth rocking the matte eh? lucky girl 😀 I look dopey in mattes 😀
