Pixi Lash Booster Mascara Review

I always fascinated when reader’s request a review of a lighter mascara. It seems the whole world wants a mascara that has a light formula, something that won’t weight lashes down but still manages to achieve great results.

In my experience a lighter formula normally translates as an epic fail.

Jump ahead for a little something that’s lighter and that works a treat at leaving lashes natural yet full!

Pixi Lash Booster Mascara is a waterproof lengthening mascara with a natural, softer finish so if you’re in the market for light, softer lashes, this is your bag baby!

It’s heavily pigmented which I generally like as I want lashes to look dramatically black especially when doing an elaborate eye look. The color is actually a blackish blue which is supposed to make your eyes look whiter and more open. It comes with a standard, full bushy applicator for application which works well at creating full, longer lashes however also managing to give a more softer, natural finish.

Overall, I’m not really one for a softer look but if you are you should love this. It holds curl exceptionally well but it does prove slightly difficult to remove so good eye makeup remover is always great to have on hand.

It’s available at both Target and www.pixibeauty.com

What are your fav looks when it comes to mascara?

Softer lashes and more natural?

Drama, stiffer lashes?

I was at Target today and almost picked this up but decided to save myself a few bucks and got Sonia Kashuk’s waterproof mascara instead. Sonia’s formula is also lightweight plus it comes with a comb attached to the other end of the wand so you can groom your lashes after applying the mascara (bonus!). It’s a good product and it totally passed the “barn” test. I’m an equestrian living in Southern CA and if a mascara (or any other cosmetic for that matter) can last through a sweaty, dusty afternoon at the ranch it’s kudos in my book! You’d be surprised (or maybe not) at how many allegedly “sport-proof” mascaras don’t live up to their claims. Prior to my purchase of Sonia’s product I was using Bourjois’ Clubbing mascara. Dude, Clubbing would survive a nuclear blast but it’s a bit heavy and dramatic for daily wear.
