The Body Shop PassionFruit Facial Cleansing Gel Review

I have a thing for anything thats scented. Skincare, makeup, hair care…anything really, so long as its scented Im hitting it. Im always so terribly shocked when someone says they cant stand it if their lipgloss smells like cherry or hate the fact that their facial cream smells fresh. Honestly, Im gob smacked that folks arent as into scented product as I thought theyd be. Maybe its just me but Im tickled whenever anything is scented. It just adds to my experience with the product and makes it every so much more delightful in my humblest.

Which why Im thrilled to death and beyond that The Body Shop PassionFruit Facial Cleansing Gel smells so fruity sweet. Loves it! Absolutely makes my day to have a facial cleanser scented like sweet passionfruit….seriously, must be a chick thing or a Muse one, because I absolutely adore it.

Jump!

The Body Shop PassionFruit Facial Cleansing Gel is part of The Body Shop Originals Collection and available for a limited time. Why must they tease us with these and proceed to take them away? As per prior posts, just a friendly reminder, you can vote on which Originals to keep. If youre a fan I highly suggest you get to voting as once they yank these off the shelves, youll see the Muse waddling out of the store with bags full of the ones that they wont be keeping on.

PassionFruit Facial Cleansing Gel is a gentle gel cleanser with a sweet, fruity scent. Yes, I admit that the scent is what appeals to me most about it but the formula isnt anything to overlook while youre getting high off the sweet aroma. Its a pretty basic gel which works on dry skin, massage on, and rinse off. It does good removing basic makeup but dont get too crazy with anything thats waterproof because this probably wont do the job of getting it off. I like using this when I dont have a crazy amount of makeup on my face or in the morning for a quickie cleanse. The formula is gentle so youre not left with a tight, dry feel after use.

Between the fruity scent, the great price ($8.99 or 3 for $20), and gentle formula, Im not sure what I love more about this cleanser. Its a rather cute little gem of a cleanser to add into your beauty arsenal. Im hopeful theyll keep it around for good.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Muse, I love scented products too! Passionfruit is especially delicious 😀

angela 😀 I always feel so lonely in my obsession of scent 😀 people always tell me it irratates their face or they don’t like lipgloss to smell/taste good etc….

yay someone else who likes scented products 😀

Okay, so here’s how the whole fragrance thing works. Like yourself, I, too, was a big fragrance buff–if it doesn’t smell good, why bother, right? Well, then the whole pregnancy thing hit, and for some reason, ever since I’ve had kids, I cannot tolerate fragrances . . . well most fragrances. I can do fruit fragrances–vanilla, citrus, banana, apple, pomegranate etc, but I cannot do any flowers (jasmine, tuberose, gardenia etc.) nor can I do (sob!) lavender. It’s quite tragic really, but that’s the way the motherhood cookie crumbles . . . *sniff*

really tina?! How odd 😀 I don’t really dig florals much myself but anything sweet and fruity I likey!

I love Passionfruit Cleansing gel . The end.

OK, maybe not quite the end (as you know, I love rambling). The scent of The Body Shops Passionfruit Cleansing Gel, Dewberry/Green Apple/Fuzzy Peach shower gel and Kiwi Lipbalm are guaranteed to make me feel 12 again. I used this cleansing gel for years on and off when I was a teenager. Back then they used to do refills if you bought your empty bottle back to the store. I remember lugging the 500ml bottle in my school backpack praying it wouldn’t leak on the way home.

I do hope they keep this one. It’s an excellent cleanser and adds a real zing into the chore of washing one’s face.

    • the Muse

rachel I totally voted, really want this to stick around, loves it 😀 you can vote one which to keep at the body shop’s website 😀

  • Hana

I don’t really mind it if my makeup or skincare stuff is unscented, but I enjoy it when it is, and body wash and lotion and stuff HAS to be scented. 😀
