The Skin Food Creamy Cheese Mask Review

If you told me last month I’d be smearing cheese all over my face and loving it, I’d probably have called you a liar.

You see, the Muse hates cheese.

Unless it’s melted I’m not eating it. I have alot of food quirks and cheese happens to be one. My x-boyfriend would tell you that the sun, moon, earth, and stars revolve around a slab of cheese but I have no such feelings for the stuff and would happily do without. Mind you I like grilled cheese and I like pizza but that’s all melted….the moral of this story is I will NOT eat cheese unless it’s been melted.

This is the story of my life.

Anyway.

Cheese not being in my top ten list as it is you could imagine my horror when I came across The Skin Food Creamy Cheese Mask. Does that sound down right disgusting? Simply rancid! Who wants to go around smearing cheese on their face?!

I’ve no idea how I talked myself into it being a good idea to purchase this but purchase it I did and it changed my idea of cheese forever.

Jump!

Contrary to my fears that I would be slathering a smelly cheese mask on my face I was quite relieved to learn it smelled like nothing at all.

The mask has a mozzarella string cheese texture which kinda makes it fun to apply. It does not smell of cheese and aside from it’s strange texture it honestly doesn’t remind me of cheese in the least.

It’s meant to nourish dry skin while providing moisture and keeping your face healthy, happy, and glowing. And actually it does all this!

Using the mask twice a week your skin will feel smoother, supple, hydrated, and have a nice glow. I’m honestly addicted to this stuff at the moment.

To use, you simply massage a sizable amount on your face for one to two minutes or until the mask goes from being sticky to smooth. Now you can leave it on for anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. I actually sit around as long as 20. After, you simply wash off with lukewarm water and GLOW baby! The formula is quite rich and has a gooey consistency like that of string cheese. It’s a tad tacky but quickly becomes smoother as you massage.

I use it at night before heading to bed and in the morning my skin looks and feels so lively and pretty. My dry skin drinks it up like a cold cup of water and it leaves my skin so smooth and soft.

Overall, I like it very much and feel it’s a big old Muse Approval. It leaves my skin feeling soft and looking quite beautiful without any tightness that some masks have a tendency to leave behind. If you’re looking for something to get your dry, dull skin back in order I’d suggest trying this out.

Loves it!

Anyone try?

Do share!

A friend purchased this for me from Korea however I’ve seen it on E-bay for close to retail.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Hmmm. I actually have similar feelings about cheese–I don’t care for anything that’s not melted, but my boyfriend has been working on me for years on it. How do you feel about cheese products–like Cheetos, Cheezits, etc?

    • the Muse

hey dangster I’m ok with crackers and cheetos and such. but like say ham and cheese sandwich…or a cube of cheese..NO WAY! how about you? are you cook with cheese flavored stuff?

  • Kelsey

    Oh. My. GOD.

Muse, you and I just became BFF. Even if you don’t like me, hate my blog, want nothing to do with me.. We are BFF. Because you see, cheese revolts me. Granted, I won’t even eat it melted, but I can forgive you for this.

Honestly, this review kinda grossed me out a weeee bit, but I’m a little intrigued all the same. Hmmm.. Maybe my opinion of cheese could change as well.. Nah, probably not, BUT it could change my skin’s opinion! 😀

    • the Muse

LOL kelsey! Seriously! CHEESE GAG! *hugs* lol! So you won’t even eat pizza? or say a grilled cheese sandwich? that I can do but I can’t eat like a cube of cheese or a slice of cheese on bread or something, totally revolting!

LOL never change my mind about cheese but maybe about my skin!

      • Kelsey

I’ll eat pizza, but I scrape the cheese off. lol. I get so much grief about this from my boyfriend’s family of cheese fanatics. No grilled cheese sandwiches for me, though. lol

I CAN handle things like Cheez Doodles or Cheez-Its. Powdered cheese doesn’t seem “real” enough to me, lol!

        • the Muse

lol kelsey you have it worst than me! I don’t mind melted but def can’t eat it any other way! LOL no no I totally understand that and think it’s true….crackers and such just don’t seem like “real” cheese lol!

  • Kelsey

By the way.. I’ve read in your “about me” page that you play WoW.. GUESS WHO DOES ALSO! 😉

Do you still play? Horde or Alliance? ;P

    • the Muse

AWESOME Kelsey 😀 Hoard most part but been known to dabble in alliance 😀

      • Kelsey

Horde all the way here! I’ve had a couple of Alliance characters, but on my “main” server, I’m totally Horde. I’m on the Shadowmoon server.. If you still play and wanna head over there (if you’re not there already!), look me up. My main’s name is Natallia. 😀

        • the Muse

hey kel totally have a few alliance floating around too! I’d love to. I’m normally on a private server but occasionally mainstream it…haven’t played in a bit as it does take over life when I do play lol!

          • dangster

You girls are awesome . . . I play WoW too! Alliance FTW!

          • the Muse

ha dangster we need to all get together one night and rock it!

  • Audrey

Ahahahaha, as much as I LOVE cheese, I got all squicked out when I read the name of this.

But since it doesn’t smell like cheese (thank god!), maybe I’ll try it 😛

    • the Muse

lol audrey tell me ’bout it 😀 Nope thank god if it smelled like cheese I’d have tossed it LOL!

  • Robyn

i like light phildelphia cheese i spread it on toast i dont even know if its really cheese but otherwise i run away from cheese

and oo lol this was ages ago but in your reply to my last comment i left you said you would be brittish/asian in a future life i think you would make an awesome brit lol i invite you to be scottish cause thats even better 🙂

    • the Muse

LOL Robyn I’d gladly be an honorary scot…after all you has tennant 😀 and that in itself would make me reconsider my need to be Asian, Tennant tops Asia lol!

And as for cheese I can do a little light cream cheese for sure 😀 no problem with that but I somehow don’t consider that cheese, cheese for some reason!? 😀

          • Robyn

apologies for randomness there is some heavey procrastinating going on over here

          • the Muse

oh hell no robyn I’d run from a cheese store not into to it. LOL me too! LOLLLLLLLLL you’re crazy LOL nutter! I heart u!

  • Jiniya

LOL what the hell, cheese?! This must be brand new, I’ve never seen this before! It looks so.. cheesy though, it’d feel weird on my skin! But what the hell, you said it works so I’m gonna try this too. XD

    • the Muse

LMAO jiniya I love that you think it looks so cheesy! haha that cracked me up! TRY IT! it’s awesome! 😀 and cheese-tastic too! ;-D

  • Sarah

I hate cheese with a passion too (except mozzarella on pizza) and sometimes I feel so very alone in this crazy cheese loving world. That said, the texture, consistency and name of this mask make me nauseous – no freakin’ way.

    • the Muse

LOL me too sarah! an outsider, looking in, oh the life of a cheese hater! 😀 lol I know same here but I’m glad I tried as I love it! ;-D

  • Angie Twe

    Cheese…..
Dear Muse, I love cheese! Hahaha!
Been reading your previous comments and such and I was quite shocked that some other ppl like you don’t like cheese! Aww… so bad for you guys, Cheese is one of the best thing I ever know for desserts and such. :D:D

I wanna try this out as well, but I don’t have dry skin. Does it give you break-outs Muse?

Oh and you didnt’ need to say sorry because you haunt me well. 😛
I ain’t complaining abt it. I’m just gonna save more money and buy and buy and buy. hehe.

    • the Muse

  • Janet

ooh i saw this at the skinfood shop a couple days ago! i guess another trip is in order 😀

  • Emily

Hey, Muse. Just wondering, where do you normally purchase Skin Food online?

    • the Muse

Hi Emily…towards the end of the post I mentioned a friend purchases for me from Korea 🙂

        • the Muse

I haven’t seen it available online for purchase outside of e-bay Emily so it’s your only alternative unless you have a friend from a forum that lives in Korea maybe or perhaps family in Korea? Otherwise you can purchase from the Singaporean Skin Food site however prices are considerably higher by about 50% or more. E-bay seems to be the closest to retail I’ve seen as some sellers have decent pricing and shipping. Hope this helps.

          • Emily

Okay, thanks! I’m just wary of purchasing things on ebay since I’ve read about how some people send fake products.

          • the Muse

def check feedback emily and be sure they are a long time user etc….there are fakes around for sure! I wish I had more info but this sadly I haven’t seen outside of E-bay. Sasa sells Skin Food (but not this mask) and YesStyle as well (terrible pricing). I don’t have an exact seller to recommend on E-bay but I’ve read many bloggers have had good success with some E-bayers. Just be aware 😀 I try to post where you can find products and such when possible and I always suggest heading to forums and MUA and making a friend or two for swapping! I’ve always had incredible success on Cozy Cot with swaps and made many friends from Singapore 🙂
