The Skin Food Fresh Juice C Cream Review
Note to self:
Dear self,
You so do not need more skin care products, try to refrain.
Sincerely,
Your self.
P.S. You are SO gorgeous!
Helpful hint: Whenever you’re writing to yourself remember to boost your ego with tons of kind compliments, even if they aren’t true.
I’ve tossed in my The Skin Food Lettuce and Cucumber Collection while I test out The Skin Food Fresh Juice C Collection. What? I have no shame! I’d cheat on my own husband (if I had one) for another skincare product if I had to!
Jump!
I know, I know, you’ve probably noticed I’m slightly off my normal, “Lush skincare will save your skin life” campaign but I can’t help it, I just really love on Skin Food lately.
The Skin Food Fresh Juice C Collection caught my interested because it promises to whiten my skin. You know promising to whiten my skin is like promising world peace to this Muse, quite important and sometimes impossible.
The range consists several key pieces that contain Vitamin C-rich fruit complex and nano-engineered Vitamin C Derivatives which promise to lighten the skin while revitalizing it.
Yeah…well…not so much.
I guess I haven’t used it long enough to see any long term results but as of a month I haven’t really noticed much in the way of whitening so let’s not purchase this simply for that reason.
Today I’ll be reviewing the Skin Food Fresh Juice C Cream. Fresh Juice C Cream is actually the last step in the collection as you’ll be using an emulsion, toner, and serum prior to ending with the cream.
The cream comes housed in a darling little pot with a screw top lid. As with most Skin Food moisturizers it’s a gel based and a very light formula. It has a common scent that many Korean creams sport when associated with “fruit”. It’s a little difficult to explain but it is fruity, slightly citrus, and a tad sweet. Quite nice really. The moisturizer absorbs fairly easy into skin and doesn’t feel tacky or sticky as per some gel creams. It’s probably a bit too light for very dry skin but should be suitable for normal to combination skin types and perhaps even oily due to the lightness of the product.
My skin did take a moment to adjust to this as first few uses I got tiny little pimps around my chin and forehead. This is abnormal to say the least considering I never break out. I let this small break out clear up and proceeded to try again and so far, so good. Sadly, after testing for quite a while now I haven’t seen brighter, whiter skin. I like how to cream absorbs beautifully well, I like how pretty it smells, but it doesn’t seem to have any other added benefits aside from that.
Overall, it might make a nice light, moisturizer for Summer but aside from that I’m not seeing any great benefits of using it and I probably won’t purchase it again in the future after I’m done. I could change my mind at a later date but so far I’m left feeling a little disappointed.
The Skin Food is a Korean brand and not sold within the US however the Skin Food Singaporean site ships worldwide however pricing is considerably higher compared to original retail. Check out E-bay for better deals.
