Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Shampoo and Conditioner Coconut Craze Review

OMG! I’m so excited (and peeved) about the new Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Shampoo and Conditioners. Yes, yes, yes you read that right! The Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Collection has extended the line to now include shampoo and conditioner.

Likey oh so much!

Jump it!

As you know, if you’re a fan girl (or boy) of Beauty Rush, the closet we have to a shampoo is the 3-in-1 Body Washes but now they have a set of shampoo and conditioner for your tresses. Tres likey!

These are entitled hypergloss so it’s a big promise of how shiny it’s going to make your hair. Let’s be honest, I’m on board because I dig the scents that the Beauty Rush line carries so I’m all about sweet smelling hair.

The bad news?

They are packed full if silicons. My hair hates silicons with a passion but I’m forsaking that because I’m digging all over the scent I got which was Coconut Craze. Oh baby it feels like summa summa summa time! Remember when Will Smith was a rapper?

Bad news also and my personal pet peeve about the Victoria’s Secret Beauty Collection…the price.

Yak!

Ok, so they are $10 bucks each for an 11 oz chubby bottle. Not bad really..however, they do this incredibly stupid 3 for $25 deal. You’ve no idea how irritating that is. They never extend the 6 for $30 deal to the Beauty Rush stuff. Grrr! So basically they had three scents, Coconut Craze, Appletini, and Juicy Berry…of course, to get all of them you have to dish out $50 bucks…sheesh, why no 6 for $30 like the Secret Garden range? Am I a nit picker or what!

I only picked up a Coconut Craze Shampoo and Conditioner as the price was ticking me off plus my hair can’t take all that silicon but so far I loves it. It’s such a lovely scent that’s getting me in the mood for the warmer weather!

I didn’t experience any crazy shine but the shampoo is nice enough as is the conditioner. It does weight my hair down if I’m not careful but I choose to ignore that as I temporarily enjoy the insanity of having coconut scented hair.

Very much loves ’em and look forward to seeing if Victoria’s Secret comes out with some new scents soon!

Whatcha think?

See these at your local VS?

Neato! So is the smell strong enough to last after you rinse and dry? If so I may have to cave 🙂

  • Lindsay

Ooo I was so sold on this until you told me it had silicon in it. Boo VS, why did they have to go ruining such a product that has potential? My problem with that ingredient is that over time it builds up and makes my hair actually feel dirty. What about you?

    • the Muse

sameeeeeee problem lindsay! Silicon kills my hair. It makes it feel dirty, heavy, and just uncontrollable as hell! totally can relate 😛

      • Lindsay

What products do you like to use on your hair? It always looks healthy in your pics.

        • the Muse

thanks lindsay you’re lovely for saying! I use Lush 🙂 I like a combo of I Love Juicy and American Cream or to clarify weekly I use Big and Retread. And off and on I use Curly Wurly (can’t use it too much as it weights my hair down every so slightly sometimes).

I also love the New Shampoo Bar 😀

          • Lindsay

I’m so jealous, there’s no Lush by me… I’m always jealous of you Lushaholics.

          • the Muse

I love I love juicy, american cream big and retreat too. Been silicone free for the last 6 months. I love my hair now. I have not tried new shampoo bar but i love ultimate shine shampoo bar. Yesterday i went to the body shop and got the banana shampoo and conditioner based on your review, it was buy one get one free too, yay.

gemma how do you like the nana shampoo/conditioner?! 😀 Absolutely love lush 😀 silicons are evilz! 😀 My hair behaves so well thanks to Lush. Ultimate Shine is awesome but New! is my favorite as it smells like a piece of big red gum 😀

  • Gemma

Iv only used them once this morning and they are lovely, quite moisturising for my hair as it is only fine. I will be trying new next. I asked the lady in body shop if they have silocones she said none of their shampoos do.

    • the Muse

hey gem! nope nothing from lush contains silicons that’s the best part 😀 happy, healthy hair!!!!!

  • jackieg02

First off THANK YOU for writing a review. I couldn’t find a review for this shampoo anywhere but here. I was wondering if it dried your hair out? I know you said something about it having silicone in it then again I have been using pantene in my hair 😛 I use to use redkin.

    • the Muse

my pleasure mean gun 🙂 No problems with drying out but after continuous use I did notice build up! So it’s good to follow up by clarifying weekly. Hope this helps!
