Want It: Lush Serum Bars

I want a serum bar. Say what Muse? A cereal bar? No, a serum bar! I want a Lush Serum Bar!

Jump!

Seriously, I so do not need more skin care in my beauty life but come on how can I say no to a serum in a bar…dood…hello innovation.

Lush Serum Bars are the newest coolness to hit the skin care world of Lush Cosmetics and Imma want one or two. Think of a Lush Massage Bar for your face and you’ll pretty much have the idea behind their new Serum Bars. Simply massage the bar on your face to apply.

There are currently two bars available which are Lush Saving Face Serum Bar and Lush Full of Grace Serum Bar. Each bar is 7.50 and available via Lush UK (hopefully they’ll reach Lush NA soonish but if not we can shop it from the UK as they ship worldwide). Sadly, the bars appear to be for oily, problematic skin types umm hello I have dry, non-spotty skin, where’s my serum bar?

Lush Saving Face balances oil and sebum with citrus essential oil. It contains thyme to alleviate problems with grapefruit and lime oils to tone and refresh face. Shea and illipe moisturize and hydrate skin.

Lush Full of Grace calms sensitive skin with soothing tropical butters and mushrooms (not the kind you can trip out with). It’s made with a concentrated blend of moisturizing murumuru and cupuacu (do they make these names up or what?) to hydrate skin and rose oil to relieve irritations.

Both bars so far sound like neither is fitting with my skin type however at least they are hydrating. I just ordered both, hopefully they arrive during a cold spell as it’s been a tad warm lately, don’t want them sitting on my porch melting while I’m at work.

Seems like an interesting product and quite like Lush Baby Face (my fav!).

Whatcha think?

very cool, and interested. I’m just curious and a little concerned with how sanitary they are since bars usually just sit in the store, letting many hands touch them, and dust settle on them. To rub that on your face?! Is there a way to sanitize them, maybe rub with alcohol before using and storing in a clean tin?

    • the Muse

Anna one reason I avoid stores like the dickens 😀 I rarely purchase Lush in store for this very reason including soap and bath bombs because I find it utterly disgusting everyone and anyone can touch it!

      Thank god for mail order!

  • Kajal Couture

Interesting concept! I have dry skin too so I hope they come out with more types!!!

  • Jane

oh how exciting! i love lush bath, but their face care products have left me with a crater face (shea butter is the culprit). is there shea in both of these?

    • the Muse

hey jane! really? their face stuff was my HG for the longest no I believe only one contains shea.

  • Melissa

omg now I HAVE to order form lush uk… the calming one sounds like aqua marina’s mate which is what my crazy skin needs! 🙂 ps. i need an eye cream that i can use on the top lid and brow area that doesnt mess my makeup or sting. believe it or not lush is the only one i’ve found so far – but its not heavy enough, any ideas?

    • the Muse

melissa don’t forget to get the face colours 😀 mmm upper lid that’s a super question to be honest I don’t moisturize the lid much..let me have a think and get back with u!

  • Alexa

murumuru butter/oil is actually very soothing and good for the sin. a couple of mac products have it.

on another note, i wanna try these so bad!

    • the Muse

hehe alexa yes I was just trying to be terribly sarcastic funny 😀 a few other lush products contain murumuru as well 😀

      Me too! they look cool!

  • BeautyBitch

Personally I wouldn’t let these near my face (too many irritating plant oils) but seeing as they’re for treating problematic skin, these might be a good choice to use on the upper arms to try and treat those pesky keratis bumps?

    • the Muse

mmm bora possibly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 no one says has to be face exclusively!

  • Tango

It’s a really cool idea, but I’m with Anna– I think about one of these things after a month of use and I just get the creeps! I’m not even talking about in the store (although: ewwww) but as somebody with acne-prone skin, I have to be really careful about bacteria getting around, and these would probably do more harm than good. 😛

  • knownever

why must they always tease us with great products only in the UK! i saw the lip scrubs online a few months ago and now serum bars?! what are we in north america chopped liver?

  • LINDARRAGNAR

omg i wish my mom still worked for lush ;'( saving face and ful of grace both look so wonderful!! I really cannot wait till they release these here in America 🙂 p.s muse you said you thought it was unsanitary that like people touch the goods and collect dust and thats true but…….if you go to a store and go for the products hidden underneath then you will get the freshest product 🙂 (thats something my mom learned when working there) shhh keep it a secret

    • the Muse

hey linda omg your mum worked for lush? cool! 😀 interesting thanks for the tip! that works for me LOL!

  • mercedes

MY GAWD!! this is long if you want just ignore this comment and preceed to forget about the girl who bothers you about her problems

    • the Muse

oh gosh Mercedes that’s a really long list…you’re prob better off going to the lush site and checking off your issues as they list skincare/hair care according the problems such as oily skin, dry hair, etc…..I find the site is VERY friendly and easy to navigate plus offers suggestions of the best products to use for your skin type, body, hair, etc…I hope this helps!? 🙂

      • mercedes

ok,thanks muse! oh and a sorry bout the longo comment,i feel like such a ninny! *looks away shyly*

        • the Muse

aw no worries mercedes! You aren’t a ninny 😀 It’s just ALOT of stuff to recommend lol 😀 the site is really great for rec’ing stuff for your skin and such so I thought it would be easier to refer you to it 😀 especially since I’d prob spend an hour typing out everything you needed, hope that’s ok :D! Hugs!

    • the Muse

ya angela! 🙁 damn it! I want a serum bar for my dry skin 😀

  • SilhouetteScreams

Well my oily, problematic skin type could certainly use it 😛

  • Shari

I ordered both of these as soon as they popped up on the site! Saving Face for DH and Full of Grace for myself. I can’t wait to try!

    • the Muse

hey you’ll have to tell us what you think Shari if u get them before I do 🙂

  • Petra

I’m very excited for these, yay !
I think they have one tester in the stores, and the ones they sell are packaged in paper or celophane-sort of thing? I worked at Lush during the holidays, and that was the way we packaged these sort of things.

    • the Muse

petra good news as normally it’s left laying around for anyone to touch!

  • aysha

i recieved saving face this morning, looks and smells really good but havent tried it yet! 😀

  • Aysha

Aw ha! I use it a few times a week either under my nite cream (which is just organic Jojoba oil lol) or massage in before applyin a fresh face mask. Smells like grapefruit, melts nicely into the skin, I dont have oily skin so not sure how well it would control that but it really softens an hydrates my normal skin! Love ur site btw x

    • the Muse

thanks aysha 🙂 so glad you’re enjoying my babble and cheers it sounds incredible!!!!!!!!!

  • Shari

Hey hun! I’ve been using my Full of Grace for just over a week. WOW! I use it after I cleanse at night before bed. My skin feels amazing! When I wake up it’s very soft and not greasy at all. My husband is using Saving Face and loves it just as much! These are a definite must get! Thanks LUSH!

    • the Muse

      hey shari!

I am LOVING these as well 😀 aren’t they dreamy!? my skin is so soft in the AM! I was shocked how small they were though!

  • Shari

They are TOTALLY dreamy!!! My skin feels amazing in the morning. I too was a little shocked at the size, but at least a little goes a long way!

  • Molly

How can i get one of the saving face bars since they’ve been discontinued???
