You Don’t Need These: Cettua Silky and Clear Nose Strip with Witch Hazel and Cettua Silky & Clear Charcoal Nose Strip Review

Sometimes the Muse hauls before she thinks. Ever have that happen? It’s called buyers remorse and I’m so guilty.

I recent snagged some Cettua Silky and Clear Nose Strips with Witch Hazel and Cettua Silky & Clear Charcoal Nose Strips for a bargain. They set me back 2 for $3 bucks, yay cheap!

However, steals and deals almost always turn out to be terribly wrong with me. I swear I can’t get a bargain that’s actually worth more than it’s price. If I pay a buck for it, normally that’s exactly what it’s worth or in this case a buck fifty.

Jump!

I got these from a local Asian market and honestly I should know better than buy nose strips and groceries in the same store, that’s probably the foreboding that these were going to be terribly wrong.

I’ve never actually heard of Cettua but turns out it’s actually a Korean brand. Cool beans, obviously has to be Asian if it’s in an Asian market right?

I got two different kinds of the strips both of which suffers the same main problem. After applying the strip it never really dries down on your nose so it feels as if you’re sitting around with wet plaster but plaster that’s not drying. I waited near 20 minutes before peeling and it left behind a sticky, gross residue which resembled paper mache. The worst part is peeling off the charcoal one which leaves behind a ton of black, sticky charcoal which can only be removed using toner or astringent of some kind. To add insult to injury I felt like the strips were too round for my nose and didn’t fit correctly.

Ugh!

Awful!

Sometimes you truly get what you pay for. If you run across Cettua Nose Strips I’d suggest avoiding them.

Do not want!

    • the Muse

  • mercedes

    hi muse!

hmm maybe i should try them even though they don’t work for you i find that even though something doesn’t work for someone it can work for another for example my friend got rimmel london stay matte mattifying foundation and hated it with a passion so she gave it to me and it worked awesome! it gave me an airbrush type look and it covered my imperfections! you should totally review it!, i have a wierd nose, like the middle part is round like a bouncy ball (ha) so maybe these could work. do you know where i could get them?

    • the Muse

hi Mercedes def you can never tell what will or won’t work for someone else. Def give them a try you never know it might be a love. I just give my opinion on items that I don’t like or think others might like either but it’s def a reader’s final choice if they wanna indulge or not 😀 because you just never know what will or won’t work!!!!!!!! I got mine at an Asian grocery so maybe try in an asian market or beauty shop in your area? or perhaps online, haven’t checked but maybe e-bay or an online shop has ’em!

Oh ugh, I hate the paper mache nose strip. That is main reason why I stopped using the Biore one–the never dried and when I peeled them off they would leave white stuff on my nose.

    • the Muse

LOL kate I’m ruined so many biore ones b/c I add too much or too little water!!!!!!! and indeed paper mache nose lol! these were awful though, I went through near half a box and each time it was a dry gooey mess!

      • Kate

I keep trying them though because back when they were good (so 6 odd years ago) I convinced my husband to try one and was amazed at what the strip pulled out. I keep hoping the new strips would pull off a little forest! lol Maybe I’ll just have to look for a different brand.

          hi kate!

this is my first go but I hated ’em! Were they great back than!? 😀

  • Kate

They seemed less fussy (the line between drying properly and paper mache wasn’t so fine). Of course, my husband doesn’t do anything with his skin so the huge forest pulled out of his nose was probably a fluke. I one the other hand washing my face, moisturizes, exfoliates, applies masks, and still have these blackdots on my nose that will never go away. LOL

    • the Muse

kate don’t feel bad same here. I have three stubborn ones that won’t BUDGE!

  • cece

o shoot. i been wanting to try these out. i got a box of them in my drawer. i got suckered in by the packaging.

  • Sharlynn

    I completely agree Muse!

I’ve used the black charcoal ones, and although they fit really well for my nose shape, they get far too gloopy even though I’ve been using pore strips for more than 3 years.

Trust me…I’ve made virgin pore stripped noses “see the light” again after being clogged and I use them on a regular basis.

These were just nastier than normal, a definite no-no for anyone!

    • the Muse

amen sis! def not the best ones in the world to try! I was sincerely disappointed 🙁

  • Stasya

I do agree that compared to Biore pore strips with slits, they don’t fit as beautifully but nevertheless they still fit ok on my Asian nose.

I also find that any residue that these pore strips can leave is usually easily removed with water.

    Just my 2 cents…

Hi…I am looking for a product< cettua silky and clear nose strips, where can i buy it? Im situated in pretoria north! thank you belinda

  • Jenn

I actually really like these! They dried within 15 minutes for me and my toner took off any of the black stuff the strip left behind, maybe it just depends on the person and how each person uses it…
