Eye Primer That Sticks Like Glue: NP Set Eye Primer

Wanna save a few bucks off your Too Faced Shadow Insurance bill? Pick up some NP Set Eye Primer at your local Target for $15 bucks!

Jump!

Kinda hated this on first squeeze dears.

What is it?

An eye primer! Pretty much like your beloved Too Faced Eye Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion to keep the shadow on your peeps in order minus fading and creasing!

The bad…..

As I mentioned above kinda hated it on first squeeze as the formula comes out separated and oily, not cool. You end up with a buncha of oil separated from the pigmented which isn’t particularly pretty in my opinion. Solution, give the tube a gentle massage prior to squeezing the formula out and you’ll be singing a little ditty thanks to that trick.

The good….

It sticks like glue baby! The formula is made up of a buncha weird stuff in my humblest such as jojoba, sunflower, and rosehip oils….not exactly what you’d consider using to HOLD eye shadow in place but it still manages to work. It blends in easily but it needs a quick flash or two to get it to set so do your hair or your foundation while it settles into place. It feels every so slightly silicon-like kinda like Too Faced Shadow Insurance but with a way thinner consistency. After it dries down it literally feels like a small mask has settled over your lids aka bulletproof vest for your shadow.

After shadow application I was good to go for the day. Pretty much held up all day and my shadow was fresh and crease-free for the next 14 hours of my life until my trusty Lancome Bi-Facil came in and lifted it off my lids.

Pretty nice stuff and a little cheaper than Shadow Insurance which will set you back $17. NP Set Eye Primer is $15 and 0.34 oz where as Too Face Shadow Insurance is $17 and 0.35 oz so you save a little chunk of sale. Also helps that Target has 15% off NP Set from time to time so extra moolah saved.

I prob won’t buy again as I don’t like tube style application for my primer. I pretty much follow the Urban Decay Primer Potion religion however those who like Shadow Insurance will find this fits right into their heart and wallet ($2 saved yay!).

Nice stuff, worth a haul if you’re on the hunt for eye primer.

Woah, it sounds like the next #1 eye primer there. Since it settles like a “bulletproof vest” (LOL!) was it comfortable? I hate having the I-am-wearing-makeup feel =/

quite comfortable electronicfly 🙂 no worries about feeling like you have makeup on 😀

OMG! you have the Orange One’s product! I tried this at the store but thought nothing of it as I still have some reservation of the creator. But since you said it sticks like no others, I may have to give this a way. the only problem is NP is not a d/s here back in its own country. It still has beauty schools and boutique and occupies front entrance of large deparment stores. LOL

i have yet to try Tarte Insurance thingy so may be this is an alternative for a craving hard to come by!

love all napoleon perdis stuff, im sooo gonna get this, I hate when my primer (UDPP) runs out and I cant make it to sephora or Ulta and have to get one from the drugstore and am totally clueless as to which one to get that actually works, now I know to go to Target. awesome, thanks.

my pleasure cat and same here, I hate when my primer runs off and I have to hit up sephora for one 😀 target is way more local and not out of my way to snag a quickie primer from!

I HATED this product. I wore it for about 3 hours and after that little time my eyeshadow was already creased. What a waste of money. I will stick to my Bare Escentuals Prime Time for Eyes. It cost $3 more, and is only 1.5 mL compared to the np’s 10, but that stuff holds my eye makeup ALL day, and ALL night. I am angry that I wasted my money on this.

I just wanted to say that it doesn’t work for me either. I have oily skin so maybe there’s just too much oil in the formula.
