Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm Review and Swatches
So you missed out on Givenchy Gloss Poetique this past Fall? Wow, dude, that sucks for you as it sure was special.
But no worries, Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm has you covered! Total dupe!
Jump!
Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip and Cheek Balm is pretty much the sister product of Givenchy Givenchy Gloss Poetique launched this past Fall. Aside from the packaging the products are pretty much the same so if you loved Gloss Poetique and wanted a back up Id grab some Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip and Cheek Balm and if you failed to get your hands on Gloss Poetique now is a good time to grab this new version.
What is it?
A lip and cheek balm that creates your perfect shade of customized radiant cheek color. Its a balm formula which you can slick on lips or cheeks for a flush of pink. The formula is quite moisturizing and in some cases leaves behind a slightly greasy texture but once blended out youre good to go. Its a rather ideal product when youre wanting to go sans makeup and just desire a little bit of pink on lips and cheeks or as the warmer weather approaches and you want to lighten up your makeup this would be perfect!
The good….
I love the natural flush of pink that it gives both my cheeks and lips. The color makes my lips look just bitten and my cheeks look like Ive stepped in from a cold Winters night or a warm, sunny day! Truly you cant lose with the product in my opinion as its a pretty shade that should flatter most skin types (darker skin might not see too much of a difference) plus it easily blends out so you arent left with clown cheeks, merely a pretty flush! Best part of the product is the fact that it contains hyaluronic acid so its not only brightening your cheeks up but also re-hydrating tired skin and fill fine lines (not that I have fine lines but kinda cool right?).
The bad…
It does come in a pot and you do need to dip in and out of it with finger tips. I do realize this doesnt appeal to those of us who are germ-a-phones, believe me I totally relate. However, I try to disregard this and see the joy in the product but of course a squeeze tube would be better packaging for most of the makeup population Im sure. Of course I do hate that they use the “custom” shade of pink pitch for the product. For the most part, after a test on three people, I find that the color simply stays the same shade of pink for everyone. It honestly doesnt change or deepen in color for any one skin type, it simply gives a baby pink finish, not too red and not too pink, just natural.
Overall, I absolutely love it and highly recommend picking one up particularly if youre looking to lighten your makeup load as the warmer weather approaches. For me its perfect beach and pool makeup as it gives a healthy glow minus extra foundation, blush, etc…just gently flushed cheeks that are both flattering and healthy looking!
Loves it!
