Musings of the Day: Current Makeup Obsession and Hey, What’s that on TV?

makeuptelly

I totally copied this from MUA! Ha! But I loved it and couldn’t resist.

Wanna muse your current makeup obsession with me? And how about what’s on TV?

Completely random right? But hey makeup and TV, happy days!

Jump!

I just got home a little bit ago so I flicked on the telly while I typed this up and put on Antique Roadshow from last week. After I’m done with this post I’m going to try to catch up on either Lost or Supernatural as I’m two episodes behind on both.

How about you?

Makeup wise I’m currently obsessing over the ELF Studio Concealer Brush I was discussing last week. I know its not makeup but it’s really rocking my world right now. I never really use a concealer brush aside from swiping on my concealer and patting  into place but this brush literally allows me to paint on my concealer with a flawless finish! I was so impressed I ordered a few more of these as I want a different brush to use with liquids and cream. It works so incredibly with Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer so I’m hoping I’ll see the same results with liquids and heavier creams. Honestly, it’s probably the handiest tool in my arsenal at the moment.

LOVES it!

You need one!

How about you?

TV wise we’re a bit behind, and I am not one for being constrained by time as to when I should watch my TV. But I am fully watching Big Bang Theory Season 2 on DVD… absolutely LOVES the show! I think it is my inner geek totally agreeing with Sheldon. I love his clothes folding gadget!!

Makeup – just been buying all sorts of random Japanese skincare and cosmetics… really going on a MU rampage these days!! I bought some Paul and Joe stuff and really oggling over their packaging atm. Managed to get my hands on a lipstick from the Red Velvet collection that is LE from Holiday 08… really loving the colour… but I think it is a little too red lol!!!

How’s the world treating my favorite Muse? Good I hope!

My current makeup obsession is applying my foundation with a regular foundation brush (mine is a MAC 190, I think). I bought it a while back, used it a few times and was over it. But now I am loving it, with any foundation I use.

I am also kind of obsessed with nail polish at the moment. My nails are always painted now and that wasn’t the case a year or so ago.

I have about 7 Grey’s Anatomy’s that I need to catch up on…the show just doesn’t excite me anymore. I have 2 Gossip Girl’s, 3 Vampire Diaries, and a few Criminal Minds to catch up on as well. I haven’t been showing my TiVo any love lately. I always watch TV before going to sleep, but lately I have been into reading before going to sleep. And I usually do all my reading during down time at work. I need to get back into my regular TV watching habits.

    Hey, Muse!

My current makeup obsession is NYC’s black liquid eyeliner. At first I thought, “pfffft two dollars for eyeliner? How could that work?” I am so happy I took the jump though because it is by far my favorite liquid eyeliner that I have used ever (I cannot count the number I have tried, probably around 20.) It lasts all day on me and although it took a little getting used to, I love how easy it is to create a great shape with the brush!

I really need to catch up on TV :X I haven’t watched any in months because I’ve been busy studying, but I currently have Nip/Tuck and Ugly Betty on my list!

    Three words: Chanel. Rouge. Coco.
I went from being mildly interested from the few swatches I’d seen online to swooning when I tested them on counter. In the past fortnight I’ve “accumulated” 14 of them, and still have 8 more on my wish list. I haven’t been hit by a pokemon lemming monster this hard for years.

Coming in at 80% less cost but just as lovely are the Etude House LED Lipsticks. I hauled the best 4 colours, was sucked in by their smooth texture and got 2 more yesterday. However I think I shoulda stopped when the going was good as the 2 new ones I got are slightly crazy colours and I don’t think I’ll end up wearing them! They’re the only things worth getting in the new LED collection though. Everything else is pretty on the outside but a poor performer on the skin.

on the TV front: I’m currently watching kdrama Cinderella’s Sister right now!! Moon Geun-Young is so good, and the story is really well done too.

as for makeup, I recently got the cucumber toner from skin food and it smells so nice! oh, and i tried mixing a sample of bb cream with clear polish in an attempt to make a nude shade… hhaha. the color was actually pretty decent, but the formula not so much! i should probably stick to powders. ^^

          • 4/16/10 8:00 Janet:

Coffee prince!!!! that is totally one of my favorites!!! gong yoo is so yummy in that one, and it was yoon eun hye’s best performance imo! Antiques Roadshow haha! I watch that sometimes and my hubby says that’s for grannies lol, but it’s so good when people find out what they have is worth more than they thought. I like House the sarcastic doctor and CSI Vegas, the housework just gets pilled up when I have the box set.

As for makeup, I’ve been obsessing over my UD 24/7 in Flipside. It’s all I wore for my eyes yesterday (besides mascara). It’s such a cool turquoise/teal…it completely morphs with other colors to complement them, especially blues.

NOTHING like British tv :-D I’m the same, I feel like I’m wasting an hour watching telly when I can be doing 100’s of other things :-D I HOPE so too. I had dinner with a friend last night and she watched a little preview and felt like MS was embracing the quirky nature DT brought to the Doctor. I worry about that! – Clinique Redness Solutions daily base… love it! Helps cover my mild rosacea and makes my makeup last
    – CoverGirl’s CG Smoothers tinted moisturizer… did a review on my blog… love it!
    – I think it’s about to be that mousse concealer… I keep eying it in the store. What shade do you use in Mac versus that? I wasn’t sure which to pick up (I’m NC20)

TV shows… hm… loving The Tudors, Dancing with the Stars and CSI atm.

TV-wise: Count me in as one of the Losties. I am really into this show – I’m dying for answers and I can’t wait for the series finale but at the same time I want it to go on forever and ever!

I’m watching CNN Nancy Grace and I’m fixating on several things, MAC shadow in Give Me Liberty of London- Josie Maran Argan oil- UD Colin lip gloss, I actually havent tried it yet, I just enjoy playing with the pretty boy and lastly, I just made my first big purchase of the year, and its not makeup! It’s my first Coach purse. Colin looks so HOT in there ;)

makeup wise: the new Tokidoki collection from Sephora! I’m hauling some of the palettes and a cosmetic bag. I am going to skip the lip stain after reading some bad reviews. It looked cute too! Also, lip/cheek stains. I am on the hunt for the perfect one!

tv: BONES! and GLEE! I am a proud Gleek! haha. And even though its not on tv, the new Sex Pistols OVA has me laughing. JUST like the manga! Past that, my #1 anime of all time is coming out soon (not soon enough! its been delayed TWICE!). I am GAGGING to own all of the eps.

      hello hi

      k-drama=Korean Drama and j-drama=Japanese Drama

basically like a soap opera but it consists of 10 to 28 episodes (sometimes more) so it ends and doesn’t go on and on like soaps within the US :D

i’m a Lostie so that’s the big one. adore House and Glee. watch other stuff periodically, like Mythbuster, Antiques Roadshow, Dirty Jobs, Clean House, etc. my brothers just got into Dr. Who but i haven’t had a chance to check it out yet as they borrow the seasons from my brother-in-law.

i just hauled Coralista during the Sephora sale and it’s everything you said it would be, though i was dubious when it swatched rather light. i’m wearing it today and i feel like a million bucks! you’ll be happy to know the Coralista logo is no longer a sticker, btw. it’s part of the box lid now.

i also hauled a small bottle of Couture Couture perfume. i’m not a Juicy fan but this scent smells like wine, roses, and spice to me. can’t get enough!

and got some bits an bobs to get free shipping. haven’t tried everything out yet.

HAPPY FRIDAY. boy do i need the weekend to rest.

Recently used my MUFE Smoky Lash mascara. I had a sample size a few years ago, but I must not have paid attention because HELLO GORGEOUS! I love it.

I’m also obsessing over Diorshow Iconic mascara because it’s gonna expire in a month and I’m trying to get the most out of it. I love it! But I have a mini size, so I’ll be good for awhile.

Can you believe that I used to think: I’m never going to use mascara. Why would I want that stuff on my lashes? And now I have close to 20 different ones. Pfft, little did you know, 16-year old self.

As for TV, I’ve been watching Rupaul’s Drag Race. Raven all the way! :D And for makeup I’ve recently found some of my first Stila eyeshadows in this set that was housed in this bulky cardboard packaging. I took the pans out and put them in a palette instead and I’ve been using them a lot. They are Kitten and Twig but I can’t remember the other color. And the Stila blush in Tutu is nice. Glad I found it!

Hey Muse! Sometimes I think I have too many beauty obsessions…then I come here and realize that I have even more than I thought!

Right now, I’m totally loving my Tarte lip stain (anything Tarte, actually), LM spring pallette, and Korres lip butters! I just picked up the new Smashbox Halo Bronzer to play with, and I finally got the last of the eyelights palettes (already had Strobe and Beam, finally got Flash)…If you haven’t tried them, get them now. I’m not a huge smashbox fan, but those eyeshadows aer seriously amazing.

As for TV, well I like way too many things to list them all! Dexter, Nurse Jackie, The Closer, True Blood, Chuck, Parenthood…those are just a few of my faves! I always wanted to get into Lost, but after I missed the first season, I decided to wait…now I will be able to purchase the box set and enjoy as much as I want!

Right now – NARS Orgasm blush – I know I am like 5 years late on the bandwagon, but it is simply amazing. Also MAC’s pinkswoon blush (gorg color) and tarte’s lipstains.

I’m watching some weird Lifetime movie cause I’m sick and there isn’t any good tv on but my make up obsession… that is a toughy, but I would have to say Hello Flawless from Benefit, because last fall I was in a bad spot with foundation, like just totally caking it on thick and heavy (Like so thick that if you touched my face it would just come off xD The stuff wasn’t even my skin tone) because I was self conscious about my skin, but it actually made my skin worse. But for Christmas I got a Sephora gift card, and made my first venture into high end make up, where I found Hello Flawless, and all of the sudden I just didn’t need all of that heavy concealer and foundation, it was like my skin was just perfect!
