Avalon Organics Vitamin C Refreshing Cleansing Gel and Avalon Organics Vitamin C Balancing Facial Toner Review

Morning dears!

Having a good day? Sure hope so. Long weekend ahead so we all have something to look forward to.

Anyone check out Avalon Organics at Target? I was browsing through the line a month or so ago and than I randomly got some to test out so it kinda worked out rather ironically.

Jump ahead to hear the word.

What is it?

Avalon Organics Vitamin C Collection is a range of specialty skin care products that deliver active protection against aging caused by sun exposure with a synergistic complex of powerful antioxidants. Beyond protection, these organically enriched formulations nourish and hydrate sun-exposed skin for a soft, even complexion.

Vitamin C Skin Care is formulated without pore-clogging mineral oil, petrolatum or propylene glycol and are free from parabens, artificial colors and synthetic fragrances.

The Good….

I tried out Avalon Organics Vitamin C Refreshing Cleansing Gel and Avalon Organics Vitamin C Balancing Facial Toner and so far I like them both.

Both have a bright orange-y scent which is quite pleasant however those sensitive to smell may find this irritating so do take a little sniffle prior to purchasing. The cleanser is a simple gel formula which lathers up and removes basic makeup (nothing waterproof mind you) with a quick massage and a bit of water. The gel is pretty nice as it doesn’t dry my skin out nor does it leave me feeling tight after use. The toner is equally pleasant and is loaded with Vitamin C which seems to have brightened up my dull skin a fair bit with constant use. I actually like the toner more than the cleanser simply because I prefer oil cleanser to remove my makeup.

Who Might Like It?

  • Organic skincare users and lovers.
  • Anyone who wants to inject a little Vitamin C into their skincare routine.

Who Might Not Like It?

  • Sensitive skin types may find it a bit strong!
  • Anyone sensitive to smell may not enjoy the orange scent.

Final Thoughts….

If you’re looking for affordable organic skincare Avalon Organics has some fine offerings on the cheap.

I tried the refreshing cleansing gel and loved it. Despite being a gel it didn’t make my skin feel tight and left it feeling so smooth.

Problem was it turned my sensitive skin beet red (which I try to avoid). With heavy heart I returned it.

Oh well….one day I’ll find the perfect face wash or shampoo/conditioner.

mmm Kate that sounds about right. I’m not sensitive but as I was using it I was thinking that sensitive skin couldn’t POSSIBLY get away with using this. It seemed like they had squeezed an orange into it lol! That type of acidity can’t be good for sensitive skin 😀

You need to try the serum. I did a review on the serum today (how coincidental!) and I have to say it is wonderful! I’ve never thought organic skincare can be so good but this is amazing.

I was surprised too dao. the toner in particular was lovely! I kinda want to serum myself 😀

I tried the oil free moisturizer and returned it. You are right, the orange oil in it is NOT good for sensitive skin types. (although it smells heavenly on and made my eyes brighter) It make me break out in big red pimples!

fuuka def does NOT surprise me! It was even too strong for me and I’m FAR from sensitive. I really enjoyed the toner big time, kinda want to explore the other pieces in the line 😀 You know the body shop as a similar line, it’s more $$ but if you enjoy the idea of V-C in your skincare you might wanna try that, it seems gentler!

I’m kind of loving the Avalon Organics Vitamin C SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer right now. Have you tried that yet? I do wish it were SPF 30, but other than that, I don’t seem to be breaking out, and it goes on smoothly. I love the orange smell and I am a BIG believer in Vitamin C on the skin AND in supplement form for health!

I’m gonna go broke if I don’t stay off/out of a) The Sephora website and b) Target’s awesome ’boutique’ beauty section (which is full of win lately what with Avalon Organics, Alba Botanicals, Boots, et al).

I use the hydrating lavender toner. It’s definitely nice on my sensitive skin.
