Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine Review and Swatches

‘ello loves!

I’m pretty much dropping the ball the last month or so. Apologies but I am very backed up on e-mails, comments, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Sorry ’bout that.

I hope everyone is doing well. I feel like I haven’t talked to you in ages since I am so rushed but hopefully life will slow down a little bit the next few days and things will start getting back to the normal flow.

Any new makeup lemmings lately?

God, I so want that new Too Faced Eye Palette, yes please.

Speaking of being behind, I’m really late in telling you all about the new Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine SPF. Oh how I love thee.

Check it!

What is it?

What do you get when you cross a gloss, with a lipstick, and throw in a little lip balm too? Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine! You get the best of several lip worlds with this lightweight lipstick that contains a super moisturizing formula with plenty of pigmentation AND stimulates collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while SPF15 protects lips from drying out in the Summer sun.

The Good…

I went into this review assuming these would be a very sheer, lightweight lipstick and I came out of it puzzling over how Bobbi Brown packed all that goodness into one simple little slim line lip treatment!

I expected subtly and I got super pigmentation. I expected hydration and I got super shiny. It’s just such an overall fun product to work with and quite a little surprised packed into such a tiny package.

First off the pigmentation is incredible on these. Don’t make the mistake of going into the purchase believing these are a subtle little lip treatments, they are not. The formula has intense color pay off and it acts as any color rich lipstick would by providing long lasting color to lips. The difference between these and a regular lipstick? They apply and glide on super easily and leave behind not only intense color but also a super shiny finish which you won’t need to top off with gloss after use (but you can always can if you want for a bit more pop!).

You can go ahead and add pigmentation and awesome shine to the check list but don’t forget the fact that they contain SPF 15 and a formula which keeps lips hydrated for quite a few hours before wearing away. On top of that they lean towards creating a fuller lip look without bleeding or migrating away from lips. The texture is incredibly lightweight for something with such a great color pay off so you’re left feeling like you have little to nothing on your lips during wear.

The colors I tried were Berry (rich berry wine), Desert Rose (warm rose), Nectarine (subdued nude peach), and Raspberry Pink (pink bitten raspberry). Out of the four Nectarine wasn’t a fav as I really can’t pull off nude peaches so well however the others shades, particularly Berry, were all stunning on my lips!

The Bad….

I like them too much to say anything bad about ’em!

Who Might Like Them?

  • Older chicklets seeking a moisturizing lip color with plenty of pigmentation that doesn’t bleed or migrate.
  • Anyone who likes lipstick but enjoys a more hydrating, glossy formula.
  • Anyone seeking sun protection in their lip color.
  • Anyone who likes long wearing lip color with a lighter texture and feel!

Who Might Not Like Them?

  • Anyone who wants a subtle lip treatment for a more natural lip look.

Final Thoughts…..

Overall, I loved these. Quite a nice little lipstick with a boosted formula that contains plenty of shine and gorgeous wear.

Very well worth a pick up!

I’ll have a follow up review shortly with other shades as I purchased four more recently online.

Ahh! Totally wanting these – I will have to find some time to see the colors in person. They look amazing on you! I love the deep red color of berry; that’s usually the type of color I go for, so I think I’ll have to pick that one up 🙂

OMG. I freaking LOVE your website. Most of the young girls out there with beauty blogs put up pics of a collection and that’s it, how boring. This is the best Bobbi Brown review stuff I have ever seen.. the pics are to die for. And with my wallet being quite empty these days I so appreciate being able to get the story before I shell out the money. I didnt think these lip shines would pack a punch or have any coverage or color cause my girl Bobbi goes light on the punch! Thanks. I LOVE BB concealer and foundation and will always pay for it cause it’s the best! 🙂

I agree about BB, totally worth the cash! 😀 good stuff. I think you’ll like these, plenty of pigment and a uber light wearing formula 😀 thanks for the great comment Jane!
