What is it?
A revised version of DuWop Lip Venom V in a softer shade of pink to stain lips and give them that first kiss look!
The Good…
Sadly Venom V failed to work for me but DuWop Twilight Venom Blush is perfect!
DuWop took the liberty of changing up the formula on this and the applicator for the better in my opinion. One main thing that I love about this version is the fact that the applicator is a sponge. Now far be it from me to rave about a sponge as it’s not my preferred method of gloss/stain application however my lips were a little too sensitive to the lip brush that came with V and I noticed it tickled or stung to apply V using a brush. The sponge applicator actually doesn’t suffer the same fate as it allows me to build up the color and doesn’t tickle during application as combing the stinging formula of venom and a lip brush created a little woe for me in the original version.
Now the formula also changed as it feels ALOT tamer than past Venom versions so anyone that’s a bit sensitive may find this suitable to try out. It feels like it has alot less sting and bite to it than older versions. The color has also changed and as per it’s name it’s a blushing shade of natural pink. The shade is super gorgeous, super natural, and very wearable for most skin types since it just gives a tiny hint of blushing pink to lips instead of the louder, outrageous bloody red of V.
The formula is a dual phase system so it can be shaken up to combine the plumping agent and the stain to create a fuller blushing lip look. Or you can choose to dip the sponge towards the bottom of the tube without shaking up the formula. This will allow for staining only sans plumping.
The Bad….
I actually don’t have a ton of bad to say about this as I love the shade, love the formula, and I’m fully embracing the sponge applicator. I will say that, as mentioned above, the formula is alot tamer than past releases but be aware if you are sensitive as even a tamed down version may be too much for tender lips.
Who Might Like It?
- Anyone seeking to stain lips a blushing shade of pink!
- Twi-hard fans!
- Anyone wanting a natural lip look without a ton of effort.
- Anyone who enjoys DuWop Lip Venom products (like me!).
Who Might Not Like It?
- Sensitive types!
- Anyone seeking a dramatic lip stain.
Final Thoughts…..
I really like stains since they are incredibly long wearing and I tend to eat off my gloss and lipstick within minutes of application. At least with a stain I can bite, lick, and nibble and not worry about it wearing away super quickly. It’s also a great stain for Summer since the shade is so very light as is the formula so if you aren’t wanting to wear a ton of sticky lip makeup in the warm weather this is perfect.
Overall, must say I like it very much and was impressed. I didn’t get on with V at all but I absolutely adore Blush!
Muse Approved for purchase.
