JK Jemma Kidd Show Stopper Water Resistant Bronzer Review and Swatches

Several weeks ago I got JK Jemma Kidd Show Stopper Water Resistant Bronzer but it’s been so cold and rainy that I didn’t even want to THINK about Summer, bronzers, etc…..

Finally the weather is starting to break and we are experiencing a little bit of sun so bronzers are the order of business today.

Jump ahead for it!

What is it?

JK Jemma Kidd Show Stopper Water Resistant Bronzer is a semi-matte powder bronzer that’s water resistant.

The Good….

This is one of those large bronzers (think the size of your head) which can be used on your face or body. The powder is pretty smooth and silky which allows it to blend fairly easily when used in conjunction with a kabuki brush or larger body brush of some kind. It has a really cute flowery design on the actual powder but sadly it’s an overspray that disappears fairly quickly with one swipe of your brush.

I liked it best for buffing on my legs and shoulders as it worked great in those areas. I was skeptical about the claims of water resistant since it’s a powder but actually, somehow, someway, water tends to bead right off of it. I applied it on my arms and proceeded to run them underwater and the bronzer holds true.

The Bad….

Sadly, the shade is way muddy brown so as mentioned above it works best on your shoulders, legs, body, etc…rather than on your face. Either I have absolutely no skill or I’m just a little too pale to enjoy this on my face because when applied I look like I’ve taken a nose dive into the dirt. It comes across as way dark on my skin so I imagine anyone with olive or darker skin will enjoy this best.

Who Might Like It?

  • Anyone seeking a body bronzer that will give warmer, darker tanned look.
  • Anyone who likes darker bronzers.

Who Might Not Like It?

  • Creamier skin types.
  • Anyone wanting to use this on their face.

Final Thoughts…

I honestly wasn’t thrilled with this one since I’m more for using bronzer on my face and not my body. The shade is just way too dark for me to even attempt it on my face and I’m not keen on buffing on bronzer on my body to be honest (but hey for the sake of the review I did). It’ll probably be a win with folks like my sister who really like a crispy brown look!

Available from Target for $23.

I just tried this too- I was a little disappointed at the muddy product for the price and the shimmer nearly disappeared after a few swipes of the brush, You should try Rimmel’s New Shimmering Maxi Bronzer in Sun Queen, it very similar to the JK one but with a much warmer realistic bronzed color, also with the glitter and for only 6.97 at Walmart it also comes in a big circular container but is not Water resistant so it might not irritate the skin so much 🙂
