L’occitane Peony Eau de Toilette Review

Ahhh L’occitane fragrance. Such a wonderful taste of Europe…but sadly ever so short wearin’, le sigh.

No matter….

I still wanted to get my grubby, greedy little hands on the new L’occitane Peony Eau de Toilette, long wearing or not.

Jump!

What is it?

A celebration of the peony! An Eau de Toilette that captures the subtle, floral fragrance of the peony flower.

The Good…

Ahh how gorgeous tis is. Now, be aware I’m not fond of florals but some can capture and hold my interest on occasion and L’occitane Peony Eau de Toilette happens to be one. This is a fresh bouquet of peonies and rose petals with tiny bursts of tart grapefruit and a soft dry down of sandalwood and white musk.

For the most part the peony and rose notes dominate the blend but on occasional you’ll catch faint whispers of grapefruit and a cleaner, powdery dry down from the musk. It’s quite richly floral so if you aren’t a fond fan of florals in any way, shape, or form best avoid however if you like a little floral here and there or simply rejoice in floral blends this should appeal.

The Bad….

Surprisingly, for L’occitane, there isn’t anything bad to say about it. I say surprised as at this point in the review I’d proceed to tell you I was slightly disappointed at the wear time as L’occitane and I don’t get on well when it comes to long wear. However, Peony Eau de Toilette has quite a throw and a good deal of linger for an EDT format.

Who might like it?

  • Anyone who’s up for a soft floral, feminine blend!
  • Anyone who likes peonies, oh and roses too!
  • Anyone who enjoys L’occitane fragrances.

Who might not like it?

  • Anyone who isn’t a floral fragrance lover.

Final Thoughts….

I’m quite happy I picked this up. It’s a fresh Spring blend that has a nice soft edge and remains very flirty without being cloying as some florals are. If you want it I do highly suggest snagging it as soon as possible as it’s already sold out online and my friend Jai fell deeply in lust with it so I gave him mind after we tried locating a bottle at two different shops…that was fast! Obviously a hot commodity eh? Hopefully Jai gives me partial custody.

Lovely stuff.

Worth your sniffle!

Anyone try?

OMG, peonies are my favorite flowers, and L’Occitane is great. Sounds like a win-win, huh, Muse? This is on my wish list.

i have been stalking these peony items but trying to hold out for l’occitane F&F maybe b/c i want pretty much all of the lipsticks and glosses too ~ we’re on the same wavelength 😛 how predominant would you say the musk/wood dry down is? i don’t think i gave it a chance to get that far when i tried it in-store. thank you!! 🙂

d I’m trying to hold out for an FF too but I don’t see one coming 🙁 damn!

very subtle. the musk and woodsy part is barely there…it’s more of a floral-y bouquet dry down, cleaner and less musk

While I didn’t get the EDT, I have this in lotion, soap, and the limited edition body powder….I love the scent! Grapefruit huh? I detected the rose in it and I kept thinking I smelled some sort of greenery to it but I wasn’t sure what. I’ll pick up the EDT next….and I’m dying to try the makeup line.

mm kelly maybe a hint of green but if you take a sec, close your eyes, you can get the a bit of grapefruit, could be where the green is coming in for you! 😀 the makeup=AWESOME at least I thought so!

Hi Muse – I have tried this fragrance & I love it! Did you happen to try the Roller-On? It is amazing and it is more intense so it lasts a really long time!!! I would definitley recommend it!

This is a really popular fragrance in Russia right now, where I live. It seems everyone is wearing it. Naturally, I picked up a bottle. Super cheap here-the exchange rate makes it something like $10 a bottle! L’Occitane has always been really cheap here.

    Yum!
