Urban Decay Revolver Fragrance Oil Review

Urban Decay Fragrance Oils are back. Remember them? I told you a little about Urban Decay Revolver Fragrance Oil last week and today thought I’d share the deets of what I thought of the new fragrance today.

Jump!

What is it?

A super perfume oil concentrate with notes top notes of lychee and pineapple, a middle note of fig, and base notes of both amber and Egyptian musk.

The Good….

Just like Urban Decay this is a dangerous, edgier scent that won’t appeal to just anyone. Although the scent begins with a happy note of green it ends with very dominate notes of amber and musk. The scent is a very evolved, unique blend that should appeal to those who like a mysterious aura in their fragrances.

It’s a mere 14ML bottle with a roller ball applicator but don’t let the size full you as it packs a serious punch. A little roll and you’ll have linger and throw to last at least 12 hours straight through, if not longer! It’s a pure, unadulterated fragrance that isn’t killed off with water or alcohol so you’re getting the full extreme effects of a very concentrated blend.

The Bad….

Sadly, it fails to excite me. I like the beginning notes of green which smell fresh however the amber and musk take it into the realms of darkness which is one place I do not go with fragrance. I like my scents sunny, fruity, and sweet and this sadly brings none of those things to the table as it gives off a very mature, dangerous air that is simply not fitting with what I like to smell like. Perhaps a little stinky hippie it some aspects but nothing at all in the realms of patchouli just more deeper and darker than I am willing to cross over into.

Could be debated that the $26 price tag for a mere 14ML is a tad too expensive however you won’t hear me complain as it’s worth this price due to it’s formula.

Who might like it?

  • Unique fragrance lovers.
  • Anyone who wants incredibly long wearing scent.
  • Those who like deeper more dangerous blends.

Who might not like it?

  • Anyone that enjoys fruity, sweeter blends.
  • Anyone who does not like the amber as a note (this is what gives the fragrance a certain edge).

Final Thoughts….

Sadly, I could nit get on board with this one but I find it a completely fitting fragrance for Urban Decay’s edgier personality. It’s perfectly fitting with what the brand represents and makes sense they went with something a little dark. Honestly, we didn’t expect sunshine and rainbows in a bottle from UD right? You’ll probably enjoy this if you personality leans more towards the edge…..

As for me? I like the darkness but just don’t completely embrace that side of my nature.

Available now from Urban Decay.

Have you smelled it?

Guess I won’t be indulging 🙁 I like light, spunky scents like fruits and tropical smells. I’ll stick to UD’s makeup, then! Thanks, because I was considering this.

marina def not light, bit dark, the amber pulls it into another realm from the lychee and pineapple leaf notes.

I really really want to smell this! I like amber tones sometimes… and I like unique scents…

    • the Muse

jonnie worth a sniffle for shiz 😀 if you like amber and musk you’ll prob adore!

It depends on the perfume! I do like amber and musk but only balanced out by something sweeter… I wear a lot of fruity and foody stuff. But where can I catch a sniff? It’s only available on the website, right? I don’t wanna buy scent without smelling first.

        • the Muse

sadly yes jonnie only on UD at the moment….I’m kinda hopeful they’ll bring it to Sephora soon.

Haha! I should get this for my mom… she burns pure patchouli oil all the time, blecht! lol

sounds right up my alley! i adore amber and dark scents. i like pretty much anything that’s not floral, actually: clean, green, citrus, musk, masculine, etc.

      jen I KNEW you’d love this! It’s such a YOU scent 😀

have you tried the other 2 scents, go and pistol? i just got some this week, and they smell nearly the same to me off the bottle, i wore one to work and it seemed to fade rather quickly (though it could be because i bought them on ebay, and though theyre new bottles they might not be so ‘fresh’?). they both seem to be heavy on the gardenia, which i like – from afar. not on my body. me sad. i love fresh crisp water/green/fruit smells: ralph lauren cool is my sig for the last few yrs, before that was victorias pink and before that venus girl trap at pacific sunwear (BEST best best scent ever and it totally destroyed my heart when it was discontinued and i had SHATTERED my new full bottle).

michelley I think so a really long time ago at Sephora. but can’t really remember what they smelled like 🙂

I just got this in the mail today….not sure what I think of it yet?? I don’t think thats a good thing if I can’t figure it out yet. I do like the begining notes, its the end that is turning me off. But it is returnable to Urban Decay, so I don’t feel horrible.
