Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipgloss Review and Swatches

I gotta say that the new Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss really didn’t quite capture my attention at first glance. They did look a ickle boring even though the press release read like a lipgloss lover’s dream!

But after playing around with the other shades I find myself eager to get to the nearest Estee Lauder counter to grab some more shades, I likey long time.

Jump!

A non-sticky, non-tacky color gloss available in 34 shades and 3 finishes that hydrates lips and leaves them drenched in color.

At first swipe, Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipgloss is uneventful to say the least however after a few layers later, you’ll be pretty happy with the formula.

The texture and formula are very interesting as they start off rather dry and boring but proceed to flex around lips and create a shield of moisture that keeps lips hydrated for hours. The texture at first feels dry but quickly turns into a jelly-like feel that’s incredibly lightweight on. The gloss doesn’t migrate, don’t slip around your lips, nor does it make a general mess. It simply stays locked into place for hours on end while still remaining fresh. I wouldn’t call the finish incredibly glossy but it has a nice high shine and builds up like a dream. I do think the key to wearing the product well is building it up as one layer won’t produce great results but a few layers and you’ll have a very comfortable yet shiny lip look.

Both shades I tried were very subtle and very sheer sans a ton of color payoff however one in particularly stood out. Tempting Tearose is one of those MLBB (my lips but better) shades that gives a nude, shiny finish to my lips. The other shade I tried was Star Pink which was a lilac pink shade and not near as flattering.

These do have the typical Estee Lauder taste and fragrance which is a bit perfume-y and could prove to much for sensitive types!

  • Anyone who wants a gloss who likes gloss with a jelly-like texture to keep lips hydrated and smooth for hours!
  • Anyone who has dry lips and wants a gloss that wears long and keeps lips moisturized!
  • Anyone who wants a subtle kiss of color on lips in a lightweight lipgloss that isn’t tacky or sticky!

  • Anyone sensitive to scented and flavored products!
  • Anyone who isn’t keen on more mature packaging (these sport the gold Estee Lauder design which leans towards being more mature and alot less “fun”).

After being so pleased with Tempting Tea Rose I’ve decided I need to head to counter and grab a few more of these as I really love the formula. It’s comfortable yet long wearing, not overly done in the color department yet still manages to look flattering. Count me impressed. I thought I would hate these but came out really enjoying them!

Very Muse Approved for purchase.

Try one, I think you’ll be surprised.

Available now from www.esteelauder.com and at local Estee Lauder counters.

I’ve never had/tried Estee Lauder lip glosses. Can you describe what they taste/smell like?
