MAC Superglass Review and Swatches
Better later than never kids…
I’m late with my MAC SuperGlass Review, damn shame too because I lurve them. When MAC Dazzleglass hit the scene I wasn’t going to indulge but I did and was pleasantly surprised how much I loved them.
Leave it to MAC to do it big as Dazzleglass wasn’t enough we needed SUPERglass yo!
Jump!
What is it?
A beefed up version of MAC Dazzleglass available for a limited time that’s blended with small, medium and large pearls to create three distinct dimensions of jewel-like flash and overwhelming dazzle.
Dazzle?
Sparkle?
Jewel-like?
Yes, please.
The Good….
MAC Dazzleglass was my bestest buddy ever but MAC Superglass takes the winning spot in my heart because I like these even better. The formula is injected with a healthy dose of crazy cool glitter to create a shimmery finish on lips. Colors are really workable and very buildable so you can easily layer up and get a nice dose of healthy pigment plus plenty of shimmery goodness for lips!
Formula is the typical MAC fair so it is tacky, incredibly sticky, and pretty damn thick. I’ve made my peace with MAC and I actually like the tackier formula since it allows their glosses to stick around without touch up for hours on end.
I got two shades, I know incredible I just said no to the others right? I got Gift Wrap which probably warrants a back up for me as it’s a light peachy pink coral concoction that I favor in a major way. I also got Superflash! which turned out to be these delicious shade of pink.
Did I mention the brush applicator? Oh how I love thee! I wish all MAC glosses sported lip brushes!
The Bad….
Alot of the shades are easily dupe-able with MAC Dazzleglass you may already own. This was one problem I ran into when shopping this as many of the colors were beefed up formulas of colors already released. For example if you have Dazzleglass in Sugar-Rimmed chances are you aren’t going to NEED Sugar Overload.
This shimmer in my opinion it leans more towards glitter overdose which is perfectly ok for me however it does create a little havoc when the gloss has worn away and you’re left sporting a lip full of glittery bits sans gloss, not a pretty look.
These sport the horrid MAC vanilla taste. One day I’ll convince MAC to go minty.
Who Might Like These?
- Anyone who liked MAC Dazzleglass!
- Anyone who likes shimmery, glittery glosses!
- Anyone who wants a long wearing gloss.
Who Might Not Like Them?
- Anyone who can’t tolerate A WHOLE LOTTA glitter.
- Anyone who doesn’t like heavier, tacky lipglosses.
- Anyone who tends to nibble off gloss or lick it off (once the gloss is gone this leaves a ring of glitter around your mouth, touch up is essential to keep the less than ridiculous look away from your face).
Final Thoughts….
A few minor quirks with this gloss but an overall awesome product in my humble opinion. I like super shimmery glosses and these deliver just that in a long wearing formula. MAC always hits it with glosses like this! The lip brush makes it easy to pile on color for a sizzling look.
Nice stuff and worth a lookiee particularly if you haven’t experienced Dazzleglass in the past.
