Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstain Review and Swatches
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstain should be available at your local store right now. Yay! New lip stains, come on get happy. I do suggest snagging them prior to Sunday at Walgreens if possible as they are Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off (Wish I got this deal grrrr I paid $8.99 each at Harmons). Might as well save money on your lemmings right?

A lip stain pen available in a variety of shades.
Well these are nice! Particularly the packaging! Covergirl’s version is kinda uneventful packaging wise and Maybelline stepped it up with a silver swirl design. Quite nice really. I’m a packaging whore so these appeal.
Formula is pretty typical to many stains on the market today but alot less garish and scary a la MAC’s version (those were pigmented as hell). These apply with nice pigmentation but all the shades I tried out weren’t scary clown like thankfully. Formula is much like Covergirl’s version in many ways. The stains have a slightly fruity taste which is pleasant.
There are ideal for Summer wearin’ and tearin’ as they wear long and are pretty much waterproof when eating or drinking. I didn’t experience much in the ways of migration and wasn’t left with ring around the mouth from these which is a relief. Colors wear well.
The shades I hauled were Wink of Pink (raspberry-ish pink), In The Buff (supposed to be a nude a pink but comes across like a deeper nude pink), Feelin’ Rosy (reddish raspberry), and Touch of Toffee (orang-y, brown toffee).
They do have the potential to creep into fine lines around the mouth so do be aware prior to use if you sport fine lines. I don’t personally have fine lines but it’s pretty much universally known that these are a death trap for such.
- Anyone seeking a long wearing lip stain!
- Anyone who likes to eat and drink without having to retouch up (these will last through your dinner and diet pepsi).
- Anyone who wants to beef up their lipgloss (put some underneath and add extra pop to your gloss)
- Anyone with fine lines around their mouth!
The formula seems to be very light weight and the pigmentation is just right so I didn’t have any woes with the product migrating around my mouth. If you already have the Covergirl version you probably don’t need to indulge in these however some of the shades seem a tad more flattering than the CG version. If you’re looking for an inexpensive ($8.99 or less) lip stain to beef up lipgloss or something that will wear really long, these are an ideal choice.
Quite nice really and worth a haul if you don’t already own lipstain!
Nice!
