Votre Vu Duette Luxe Lip Balm and Hand Creme Review

Marked at a whopping $39, I could swear to it that Votre Vu Duette Luxe Lip Balm and Hand Creme is thee most expensive hand cream my hands have ever seen! I actually spend $18 on Lush Smitten and dude, even that’s expensive to me. I guess I’m of the mentality that any hand cream will do and I’d rather dish out alot on skincare for my face rather than my hands…..

Votre Vu Duette Luxe Lip Balm and Hand Creme could change my mind though.

Luxuriousssssss!

Jump!

Votre Vu Duette Luxe Lip Balm and Hand Creme is a duo system that contains a lip balm and a hand cream in one package! Squeeze the tube to enjoy a gorgeous hand cream and flip the top of the hand cream’s lid to reveal a super emollient lip balm.

This is a rather nice little duo to keep on your end table for nightly use as you can smear a bit of the balm and some of the hand cream prior to sleep.

The lip balm is made from coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax creating a soft formula with a delicious flavor of coconut. The formula also contains UV filters to added protection. The balm is super soft and feels extra emollient on lips. In my opinion, it’s a tad rich for day time use but makes a perfect night time treatment to get lips super smooth and soft when you wake up in the AM. It’s rather tasty so you may have to refrain from licking it off like a dessert. The balm is housed in the lid of the hand cream so you slipping flip up the top lid to reveal the balm.

The cream is indeed as luxe as its name and smells like a beautiful almond, coconut cake of some sort. Yes, I was tempted to lick my hands after application. It absorbs easily and has a slightly silicone texture that’s very pleasant, soft, and soothing on my hands making them extra soft and hydrated. The cream is so incredibly moisturizing and luscious I felt it was a waste to simply use on my hands so I dabbed a small amount on my elbows and knees too! Might as well experience all that gorgeousness all over my body! Like the balm it to contains UVA/UVB protection to main your skin tone and help protect your hands keeping them soft and young!

At $39 this is a real indulgence that some might find a little too expensive to partake of.

  • Anyone obsessed with keeping their hands hydrated and in tip top shape!
  • Anyone who likes dessert scented hand creams, lotions, or potions.
  • Anyone who wants younger, smoother, softer hands!

  • Anyone unwilling to dish out almost $40 for hand cream!
  • Anyone sensitive to smell or fragrance (this smells like a big old dessert, delicious yes, but could prove too much for those sensitive to smell and fragrances in product)

Although I’m one for over indulging in things I like, I probably wouldn’t purchase this again because the price is a little too high for me to indulge. If it was a facial moisturizer or an eye cream, I can easily get on board paying a larger sum however hand cream is simply not something I want to pay $40 for. I already feel a little guilty splurging on $18 hand cream so I really think I’d feel uncomfortable indulging in $40 hand cream, heck that’s almost the cost of my eye cream….

Very nice, very luxurious, but maybe a little too luxe in terms of price.

If you have money to dish out, I’d buy this, it’s really incredible however if you’re like me and wanting to dish out on something for your face, this may be a little too much to indulge.

Wow a $40 lip balm + hand creme duo… I feel bad just spending $10 on a hand cream, I don’t think I could buy one for $40. Then again I did buy the L’Occitane hand cream which is almost $30.. I say knock the price by $20 & I could happily hop on board!

    • the Muse

ashley I think that’s more than fair, I could do $20. But $39..ouchie!

Wow Muse that product looks pretty neat! I read the review. Overall do you think its a great product? Is it a good lip balm? Have you ever tried the La Mer lip balm? I wanted to know what some of your favorite lip balms are. Can you recommend one thats in your top faves?

    • the Muse

hi valentina yup On the bottom I mentioned I think it is incredible. Did you not see that part? 😀 yes it’s a good lip balm. I have tried le mer’s, it’s quite nice although a little expensive. I really like Labello Lip Balm, those are my favs.

      Hope this helps!

I’m such a sucker for spiffy packaging. I might actually splurge on this!

This is a cool concept, neat idea having hand cream and balm in one little tube…but personally I’d rather get a cheaper hand cream (or just use any regular body lotion I have that’ll suffice to moisturize my hands), and my lip balm of choice..my favorite is the Dior balm…you should try it Muse! I slather my lips in it before I go to bed and night and it keeps them moisturized when my AC is going during the hot nights.

Good to hear that the balm and hand cream are very moistuizing and smell delectable. I think given those attributes in addition to the fact that both have UVA/UVB protection, it should be worth its price-they do say you can tell a gal’s age by the condition of her hands. If it didn’t have sun protection, I wouldn’t dream of spending that much money. Either way Muse, you’re too young to age-proof your hands. I’d stick with the Smitten (they both smell like almond heaven anyways, right?) 🙂

ha wish I was young steph 😀 but thanks! hehe! and smitten is just to delicious to give up isn’t it? 🙂

Hey there Muse! Correction to last post…I credited Kristina for pics, but of course, the kudos go to you:)

    • the Muse

hi heather….confused..the post and pictures are mine. Who is Kristina?

  • Janette Stoll

I’ve used it before as a gift from a friend and it is so convenient with the lip balm and lotion built in and a mirror but I didn’t re-order. It’s a bit pricey. But it’s a great product to have as a demo if you’re a rep for Votre Vu.
