Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Just Peachy Review and Swatches
So who nailed Stereo Rose? I sent my sister on a mission to mars to see if she could snag me one at Macy’s on her trip to the bank this morning. She isn’t back yet. Do you think the MAC gods ate her? I need my Stereo Rose damnit.
I didn’t think this would sell out so quickly but my MAC store got six and they wouldn’t hold any no matter how much I begged, pleaded, and promised them mounds of cash. Oh well.
If you got it I officially fart in your general direction and if you’re in the FAIL group with me, let’s all huddle together and have a group prayer session.
Anyway off the topic of Stereo Rose, this morning I was messing around with a limited edition Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Just Peachy.
Check it!
A duo eyeshadow with two shades of color and a sponge tip applicator.
Umm ok don’t quote me but I think the shade is LE only not the actual product. I’m no great expert on drugstore makeup so I’m gonna say it’s the shade that’s LE here. Feel free to correct me if you wrong.
I purchased this simply because I was digging on the shade. Juicy Peach comes with a frosty cream white and a softer peachy coral shade. Nice shades if you happen to look great in warm colors. I thought the shades would go great with a Summer look using some sort of peach or coral blush.
Well wow kinda sucks the only good thing about it, is the color selection.
Formula isn’t exactly fabulous in my humblest opinion. The cream shade applies a bit frosty and as you already know I’m kinda enemies with frosty shades of shadow. The peach shade is quite nice however again the formula suffers, not so much with frost, but just the general feel of both shadows isn’t so fab. They swatch silky and pigmented but they apply a hot mess. Application kinda drags around on the lid and you end up with strange patchy areas of bare skin in one spot and shadow in another…I’ve no idea what to call this transaction going on here other than a hot mess. They don’t blend well, they don’t apply well, but they do sport decent pigmentation. Nothing wow aspiring mind you but not bad either.
The shade selection really works well together as you can apply the creamy white all over the lid and crease and follow up with the peach on the outer lid or within the crease. Sadly, the entire surface of your lid/crease/eye won’t have a nice even, smooth finish after using this and you’ll notice the shadow creases easily even after proper prepping and priming!
- Anyone who likes peachy or warmer shades of shadow!
- Anyone on a beauty budget.
- Anyone who wants shadow that applies beautifully with little fanfare.
- Anyone who doesn’t like shadow that migrates around (for some reason this ended up under my eyes, in the corner of my eyes, etc…not pretty).
- Anyone who wants shadow that blends like a dream!
If you find it on sale it might be worth a pick up since the colors are very flattering however at regular price it would be a big pass. I mean I’d probably dish out a buck or two for it but not more than that. The formula needs a hell of alot of work that much is true but for some reason I have a soft spot in my heart for the colors.
Meh….
Another drugstore purchase gone terribly wrong!
