Milani Mechanical Glitter Eye Liner Review and Swatches

You don’t have to dig too deep into your pockets for an affordable eye liner that’s an easy dupe for MAC Technakohl plus it has shimmers!

Milani Mechanical Glitter Eye Liner is a mere $5.99, comes in array of fun shades, plus it adds a bit of sparkle to your eyeliner wishes.

A color eye liner with a touch of shimmer!

Well aren’t these delightful! If you’re lemming Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner or you love MAC Technakohl but just don’t have the cash to shell out for either at the moment you might want to indulge in a Milani Glitter Eye Liner!

Perk alert, Milani’s version may be a retractable pencil but it doesn’t forsake anything in formula, packaging, or design. Where as Technakohl is impossible to sharpen or smudge without a separate brush, Milani takes on both issues by making their version dual sided to include a smudger and a hidden sharpener. One of my biggest rants and pet peeves about Technakohl is that it’s impossible to sharpen so once that lovely extra sharp point is gone, you’re pretty much left with a stub to line with! Milani doesn’t fall to such a problem as it includes a handy, tiny little sharpener built right in and hidden away, undercover-like, until you need it!

Although not as smooth as a MAC Technakohl (blame the glitter), these still manage to come across richly pigmented with a nice little twinkle of silver.

Shades I tried out were Emerald Stone (dark emerald green), Purple Quartz (royal purple), Terra Brown (bronze-y brown), Black Rocks (black with silver sparkles), and Blue Topaz (teal blue).

They tug a tiny bit when used on the upper lash line. I blame it on the glitter/shimmer.

  • Anyone who likes liner spiked with sparkle (it’s very subtle so no worries about looking too shimmery!)
  • Anyone looking for inexpensive versions of MAC Technakohl, Laura Geller I-Care Eyeliner, and Urban Decay 24/7 Liners.

  • Anyone who wants a smooth glide (I find they tug a little on the upper lash line).
  • Anyone who isn’t a lover of glitter in their eyeliner formula!

Milani Glitter Eyeliners are ideal for anyone on a budget (or even those who are not). They offer eyes a nice pop of color, an inexpensive price tag, plus a hint of sparkle (me likey sparkle!). Quite a nice little liner and well worth picking up!

I love that Milani in general makes some great and inexpensive dupes. I love their Infinite liquid eyeliners, they last so long!

I have been looking for a UD24/7 dupe, and I though there was some HiP liner that someone said was a good dupe but I could never find it. SO this is awesome. I’ll have to get a couple of these instead.

Heyyy Muse how’s their staying power? I’ve had trouble with even UD 24/7 liners smudging without mascara so I’m wondering how these compare!

    • the Muse

no problems here christina. they wear well without flaking, smudging, or running around my eye. I can go a full day 🙂 not sure how oily lids/eyes will take it but my dry ones they work fine 😀

YAY! I *love* UD liners but absolutely hate the price (and shipping as no Sephora near me) and how ridiculous they are to sharpen….just bought my first MAC Technakohl but now I’m saddened to hear about sharpening issues 🙁 I think a drugstore in my town carries these, I’ll have to definitely check ’em out! Thanks 🙂

my pleasure shannon, yea technakohl such a bitch..but if you get the milani you can use it to sharpen your technakohl woot!

I just bought the terra brown liner and I’m wearing it today. I found it to glide super smooth. I do see one or two pieces of glitter under one of my eyes, but that’s not too bad. This is actually one of the easiest pencils I’ve tried. i usually stick to a pressed powder for my eyeliner since I’m sooo bad at drawing the lines. This one is easy for me though, so I’m going to get more. 🙂
