A waterproof eyeliner available in several vibrant shades that sports a long lasting formula with a hint of shimmer!
Think MAC Technakohl and you have Stila Smudge Sticks. This is a mechanical pencil eyeliner with a soft, melty formula that glides onto eyes sans drama and tugging. The precise point creates a nice smooth, even line and leaves behind a hint of shimmer as well as color! Formula wise the liner is soft so it glides easily. It also sports a pigmented formula or at least the shade I tried Moray (Golden Olive) did but honestly I don’t doubt the other shades will as well!
They smudge really nicely however they do not have their own smudger so using your own or a q-tip is recommended. They have a nice, long wear time so anyone with oily lids or problems with migrating eyeliner will enjoy these as they stay put all day until you remove them!
As with all mechanical liners it becomes stubby fast and doesn’t come with a sharpener…grrrr! However, if you have Laura Geller I-Care or Milani Glitter Liners you can use the sharpener from these to keep your Stila Smudge Stick nice and sharp. It’s not a big deal to use the sharpener from the other two liners but I wouldn’t have minded one being included as well as a smudger maybe?
- Anyone who really loves Urban Decay Mildew (the shade Moray is a more intense, pretty green).
- Anyone who likes a more precise points when using liners (mechanical pencils always have the best points in my opinion).
- Anyone with oily lids or skin and needs a liner that sticks around!
- Anyone living in a warm, humid environment and needs long wearing eye liner!
- Anyone easily annoyed by packaging misses! (I admit I was irked it didn’t include a sharpener or a smudger)
- Anyone who already owns Mildew 24/7 Eyeliner (you prob do not need Moray but can always indulge in other shades).
I don’t have a major problem with my eyeliner migrating, fading, creasing, or creating raccoon moments under my eyes and although I really liked the Stila Smudge Sticks I tried, I probably wouldn’t purchase more shades simply because of the lack of features the liner doesn’t have that I mentioned. If they slap a sharpener in plus a smudger and a few more colors and I could easily see myself coming back for more but until that happens I’ll probably look elsewhere for my mechanical eye liner pencil needs. However, anyone with oily lids or the above stated problems may find this is a great formula that will wear long for them.
Anyone try these?
