TokyoMilk Cherry Bomb Lip Balm Review
Ahh Tokyo! One of my fav cities in the world, outside my own little city of course.
Tokyo is such an incredible culture shock. You might think you know city life but believe me some of the obscurity of a large Japanese city may never be known in any other city in the world in my opinion.
Speaking of Tokyo….
Wanna hear ’bout one of my fav lip balms? Someone asked me a while back ago, “What’s your fav balm?” Dude, such a loaded question. I have so many I love.
TokyoMilk Cherry Bomb Lip Balm happens to be one.
You probably NEEDS it, if not for the balm at LEAST for the name alone, loves it!

A whimsical little lip balm that will appeal to your lips as well as to your sense of style.
TokyoMilk, like the fine Japanese city, is an obscure little brand that caters to the Indie beauty lovers in us all. When you’re wishing to venture outside the norm or you’re busy being bored with the current, you can turn to TokyoMilk to find fine little curiosities to line your purse and makeup bags with.
I love out of the way Indie beauty simply because it’s different, unique, and not well known. TokyoMilk Cherry Bomb Lip Balm is one of those obscure indie purchases that you can whip out, apply, and proceed to have your friends lean over ask, “What is that? Who’s that by?”
Housed in a cute little box with a glittering cherry on the box you may go into your purchasing believing it’ll be a simple cherry lip balm. Not the case.
Inside you’ll find a heavy, well made glass jar with a silver top that includes the TokyoMilk emblem. The packaging is well made and meant to have an elegant, chic air. Inside you’ll find a fragrant lip balm that’s emollient without being heavy. The balm keeps lips hydrated with a very slight shine but its major appeal is its fragrance and taste.
It forsakes its namesake ever so slightly as it’s not ALL about the cherry in this case. Your first swipe may get a tart burst of cherry but the balm will quickly morph and you’ll get a bit of Italian Lemon Ice with hints of cherry. It continues to morph further and brings about a tickle of some sort of tart fresh floral (I know floral on my lips, gross! But promise, it’s not unpleasant). The overall experience with the balm is interesting as it smells and tastes so luscious!
Some may be less than thrilled to learn that the ingredients do contain petroleum. I don’t mind to be honest but I know it’s not a well liked ingredient so it deserved a mention.
Mmm if you aren’t a fond fan of using your fingers this may not be for you. I know the feeling as I’m anal about germs and bacteria.
- Anyone who likes chic, fabulous little lip balms!
- Anyone who likes cherry and lemon and cherry and lemon cocktailed together!
- Anyone who enjoys Indie beauty!
- Anyone wanting a heavy duty hydrating balm (this gives a nice burst of moisture but dire chapped or dry lips will need something more!).
- Anyone not keen on petroleum.
- Anyone who isn’t a fan of using their fingers (totally understand this one, I’m a germ-a-phobe).
Part of the appeal of the balm is the novel packaging and beautiful presentation of the product. It’s not the most hydrating lip balm I’ve ever tried but the flavor, packaging, price, and novelty should appeal to many beauty junkies. I like to keep it on my night stand as I’m a chronic lip product applicator and I’m constantly slicking something on prior to heading to bed.
Available for $10 from www.tokyo-milk.com
I think it deserves a Muse Approval for purchase!
