Which Would You Buy? Sephora Waterproof Smoky Cream Liner or Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream

Those searching for a budget friendly option to the new Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams may find it with the new Sephora Waterproof Smoky Cream Liner.

Available in 10 shades for $10 bucks each these can be used as a liner or shadow. Interesting eh? Perfectly timed release with the MUFE version. Dunno how they are but they look interesting enough however not as many color options available as MUFE’s version.

Knowing my track record with Sephora Cosmetics, I’m gonna have to say I’ll dish out the extra $12 bucks and nail myself some Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream. Although Sephora offers a budget friendly option, I am wary of the quality but hey for $10 bucks I guess we can’t not afford to try them at the very least right?

Which would you buy?

Sephora Waterproof Smoky Cream Liner?

Or MUFE’s new Aqua Creams?

For colors like teal or purple that I wouldn’t wear every day I’ll probably go with the cheaper version! Think I’ll wait a couple of weeks and check the reviews first though.

    • the Muse

Kristina very curious about them but I’m kinda sorta prepared to be disappointed!

  • Sydney

Aqua Creams of course! That’s like asking whether I want the Ford or the Mercedes!
Sephora brand is too hit-or-miss for me to stay loyal, and the quality of MUFE hasn’t ever failed to disappoint me.

  • JoElla

I haven’t tried either, but with only a 2 dollar price difference, I think I would go for the Makeup Forever brand. Unless Sephora had a rockin color I couldn’t live without.

  • Comrade_Garlic

I know me. I will go for the cheap version and be disappointed. Promptly go back to Sephora and buy 3 of the MUFE ones, because I know they will be the best. While at Sephora it will dawn on me that I could return the lousy liner, but I left them at home. Where they will sit forever. In short I will buy both, not like one and never return it. Thus wasting the money that I shouldn’t be spending in the first place. That is what I do with all beauty products.

MUFE no question. I’ve lovingly swatched them about 10 times and am gearing up for a monster haul. Is it wrong to want EVERY SINGLE ONE? These and the full coverage concealer are at the top of my MUFE hit list. I just wouldn’t trust the Sephora ones to come as high. Aside from their own line make-up brushes, I’ve never been blown away by their colour cosmetics offerings.
(PS Have you tried the MUFE Lab Shine glosses? I’m staying well away as they’re bad value for money but I could be swayed if someone raves about it…)

    • the Muse

I can’t WAIT to try Lab Shine Bora. salivating just thinkin’ bout ’em 🙂 I heard the MUFE store has them in stock but haven’t been yet 😀 I want EVERY single one too lol! Wait for Sephora FF and I can CP them for you at 20% off dude!

  • Karrie

I would rather buy the MUFE.
    Sephora cosmetics are disappointing.
But with a $10 price tag, I would still take a look.

i would go with the MUFE if i wanted it, but ive heard bad reviews on those. sephora brand stuff always just sucks. ill go in there and find the boldest color they have in the sephora eyeshadows, rub some on my hand…and theres nothing. no color lol. i bought a couple of their liquid glitter eyeliners and i loved the colors, but the brush was giant on it and the product burned my eyelids. lol. i have nothing good to say about sephora brand stuff. you get what you pay for and id rather spend more money on quality products then less money on junk.

  • Rosie

MUFE I haven’t liked Sephora products when I’ve purchased.

  • Robyn

well that would be makeup for ever since britain has no supplier of sephora haha

but i would anyway as i have to many cheap gel liners collectiong dust i didnt actually believe this type (gel/cream/etc) of liner could work until i eventually tried an urban decay one
seriosuly bamboozled me when make up blogs etc would speak about gel/cream eyeliner LIKE HOW CAN THEY MAKE IT WORK !?!?!?! then discovered you get what you pay for haha

  • lizzie

i already have several of the MUFE aqua creams, they’re what finally converted me to MUFE completely and utterly. they’re well pigmented and they set like a mofo.

i have several of the lab shines, too. haven’t had a chance to wear one out yet, but they swatch really well and i don’t think they’re too sticky, either.

  • Lauren

MUFE!!! The aqua creames are amazing and the pots last such a long time cause you don’t need a lot to get great coverage!! I’m waiting for FF or a great sale to haul these puppies!!!

  • Heather C.

I already bought 4 of the MUFE ones, so I would totally want to try these, seeing as how I’m now broke! lol

  • Christine

MUFE! I swatched the aquacreams last time I was at Sephora, and my face was like O_O!!! At the intensity of the colour. I really wanted the #6 pink colour for lips and cheeks. But I made myself walk away…

  • Ashley Avocado

MUFE MUFE MUFE! I bought 4 of the Aqua Creams at IMATS this past weekend and I’ve gotta say I looove them so far! I might check out the Sephora ones as well, though, just because I can’t affored Make Up For Ever all the time (40% at IMATS is what allowed me to buy 4! Should have gotten more but I was trying to budget my money!)

    • Ashley Avocado

On second thought, none of the Sephora colors are really grabbing my attention (not from the swatches online, anyway!)

Do you know if these are in-store yet or just online? I’m headed downtown tomorrow anyway so I hope I can check ’em out.

      • the Muse

ashley haven’t seen in store yet but stores always vary so your store may have ’em 🙂
