About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Love the new colors. Check out the MAC x Rodarte nail polish controversy!

I think they are hideous and definitely not worth the price tag. I will stick to OPI, ESSIE, SALLY HANSEN, ETC. I am a manicurist and Chanel polishes have not stayed on as long as drugstore brands. Sad, I know.

    • the Muse

hey savannah I def do not know anything about nail polish hehe so I won’t comment on how good or bad they are, I’ll leave it to experts like you ;D

  • Resham

I think they are waaay over priced…I mean you can get good colors from Essie, OPI etc…
I would surely love to own a CHANEL nail polish…but..but…but…I just can’t convince myself to spend that much on a nail polish and now I am hopelessly Rambling….

lol resham chanel is an acquired taste. as with all high end makeup you’re either really ok with ditching out the $$ or you really aren’t 🙂 I purchased black silk from Chanel a few years ago and it was the best investment of my limited nail polish days 😀 I didn’t mind the price so much tbh but it’s understandable that some aren’t up for a $25 buck NP 😀

I used to not really be into nail polishes myself but purchased Lotus Rouge last month. It was my first Chanel polish 🙂 And last week, I bought Nouvelle Vague. I never thought I would own a color like that, but I like the nice pop of color! And I am really interested in Khaki Rose. Some Nordstrom stores are having an event out of this – the one I go to is having food and beverages & it includes a make-over too at the Chanel counter and of course these will be out….I signed up and put Khaki Rose on hold 🙂 I NEVER thought I would put a nail polish on hold….LOL 🙂

Just purchased Khaki Vert on Sunday as my new neutral. I love it! Rich in Chanel pigment as expected with slight luminescent finish. To women who question the value of premium cosmetics – you are right to believe the drugstore brands have ”good colors”. For most that is good enough. As a discerning concerning consumer, I am no longer willing to settle for less the best formulas and pigment concentration I can afford. In a world in which nothing much is really new, I am thrilled to indulge in cutting edge and fashion-forward products; not waiting for knock-off versions. (otherwise I might be tempted to continue my Mother’s affection for Revlon’s LOVE THAT RED lipstick) Remember VAMP – another amazing Chanel original, turned beauty essential. At the risk of sounding conceited; my nails are fabulous. Long, strong, all natural by no accident; but by TLC and using time-tested (by me) products. After all what pleases me more: an exceptional nail finish (lips, cheeks, eyes) versus daily gourmet coffees. Next stop: bold, city chic colors from the new Chanel SOHO collection and Smashbox new blush and brush combination.

Hi Aidan smart girl ;-D You get what you pay for hun! 🙂 I remember Vamp and also Black Satin another item that was an essential for me even though I’m not a nail girl 🙂 Chane’s Soho Collection is incredible. Picked up the powder and it’s incredible!

BRILIANT MINDS think alike. Scooped powder today; lux finish plus. Drugstore brands just don’t do it for me.

Savannah – Have been trying out and testing nail color for years. As a manicurist, I bet you’ve done the same. Some of the drugstore brands will do, but the colors are so pedestrian. OPI for Sephora has famous OPI formula plus newest, fashion forward shades (oldies but goodies too).
