Clean & Clear Morning Burst Surge Energizing Power Cleanser Review

Today’s Back to School budget pick is the new Clean & Clear Morning Burst Surge Energizing Power Cleanser. Those of you who can’t dish out $200 for a Clarisonic might want to gather around for this pick!

Jump!

A micro-vibrations and energizing cleansing pads wake you up and leave your skin feeling refreshed within 60 seconds!

If you head to your local drugstore you probably know that power cleansers are pretty much a dime a dozen. Everyone and their mother has one of this little guys on the market so you pretty much have a damn large selection of cleansing tools to choose from that will set you back anywhere from $10 to around $30 bucks. The units are geared towards both younger and older skin.

Moral of the story is you MIGHT want a Clarisonic Cleansing Brush but can’t really afford the $200. That’s where these little units come into place….they aren’t a Clarisonic but some of them aren’t half bad either.

The new Clean & Clear Morning Burst Surge Energizing Powder Cleanser captured my interest for a number of reasons, one of which was the Vitamin C infused pads. Vitamin C is always a plus for skin and keeps it bright and healthy looking. Another reason was because I really enjoy the Clean & Clear Morning Burst In Shower Facial Cleanser. The pads used with this unit contain the same invigorating citrus scent as the In Shower Facial which is rather appealing to my nose.

This is sold for $14.99 and contains the cleansing tool plus 14 pads. It has two speeds the higher of which seems to work best in my opinion to get fresher, cleaner skin. I use it in the morning on a makeup free face. It removes oil and dirt and gives face a more cleaner appearance without overly drying skin out.

It’s pretty simple to use in you’re simply attaching a pad to the unit. It works much like a Velcro strip as the pad attaches easily to the head of the power cleanser in a simple step.

According to Clean & Clean it’s 10 times more effective than ordinary cleansing at removing dirt and oil and I have to agree as the highest speed pulsates quite well and breaks up any gook you might have hanging out on your face so you’ll end up with smoother, cleaner skin with a single use.

Mind you it’s not a miracle worker by any means nor is a Clarisonic but it will do the job at getting skin smoother, with less oily build up, and cleaner overall.

Like most of the units I tried this somehow has pads that fail to lather up well. I don’t get a TON of foam from the pads and I find it irritating as I’d like some foam.

Although Clean & Clear says it’s perfectly find to use in the shower, I’m a little skeptical. The unit doesn’t have much in the ways of a battery protection so fully submerging it does seem a tad dangerous but hey you can try, never know until you try plus it’s best suited to the shower since I find it makes a bit of a mess when standing at the sink as water seems to fly all over the place.

I wouldn’t use this to remove makeup and I happen to feel the same way about my Clarisonic. I’d rather remove my makeup first and follow up with this to achieve a deeper clean.

  • Anyone looking for an affordable unit to give skin a deeper clean!
  • Anyone with oily skin may find this mattifies skin a good deal.
  • Anyone interested in a Clarisonic who simply can’t afford one (this isn’t a Clarisonic but it performs a similar function as one!).

  • Anyone who thinks this will change their skincare life (deeper clean yes, clearer skin, I doubt that!)!
  • Those sensitive to scents or fragrances in their skincare!

This isn’t going to change your skincare life but it may make things easier. It does give a good, solid deep clean without overly drying out skin. It doesn’t change skincare lives but it works well enough to warrant a purchase particularly for those who feel like their skin is never really clean enough!

The unit is $14.99 and comes with 14 refillable pads plus a battery. You can get an extra 28 pads free if you purchase at CVS or you can take advantage of a BOGO offer at Walgreens which is Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off at the moment.

A perfect little cleansing find for back to schooler’s in need of a deeper clean who can’t dish out a large chunk of cash to get that fresh faced feeling.

sounds interesting! i might give this one a try since i dont really see the point of a clarisonic but the vitamin c sounds pretty good.

    • the Muse

regina it isn’t half bad tbh. It’s not going to make you scream OMG!!!!!!! but it does give a solid, deep clean. Plus the price, can’t beat it really!

      • regina

definitely will check it out. i love these back to school beauty budget picks for college! its just the stuff i need as a poor college student.^^

  • Lenna

I wonder if the pads for this would fit on a Neutrogena Power Cleaner doodad. I don’t want to have to buy another power cleaner thing to use different foam pads.

    There is never enough foam…never….Xp

    • the Muse

lenna I think they all have the same standard size, so safe to say probs will fit 😀 ha…I know WTH why do these things never produce foam!?

  • sammie

i’m so nervous about trying anything like this, because my skin is so dry and my cheeks can get pretty red! i’m scared something that scrubs so hard would irritate, y’know? even the clarisonic idea makes me nervous! thanks for the review, though! i am living vicariously 😀

    • the Muse

sammie don’t try hun. it has a citrus-y thing going on that may irritate you further. ;-D I’ll have more cheapie picks tomorrow 😀

I have VERY dry flaky skin in the middle of my forehead and my cheeks are always red, and my skin can get very oily around my nose, the skin next to my eyes, and my forehead! Its bipolar. I literally have the worst skin ever lol. I just used this for the first time a few minutes ago, and my skin feels soooooo soft! Its not dry at all but its not oily either it just feels AWESOME! And it helped my (moderate to slightly severe) acne a ton 🙂 And the red cheeks? Redness=gone. Maybe im exaggerating about my acne.. It is pretty bad though in certain spots and this really helped. It also WAKES YOU UP just like it said. And smells deliciously citrusy, but the fragrance didn’t feel harmful at all. I say try it 🙂 I’m super awake now.

I LOVE Clean & Clear. Their morning burst stuff smells amazing and makes my skin look great! I will be looking for this in my local Wally’s World and Shoppers. Clarisonic is a bit too much out of my budget!

    • the Muse

Tohnia such a fan of the morning burst scent too! I like the in shower facial thingy! so cool 😀 Hope you get it soon your side!

  • rainbow

doesn’t this match the neutrogina wave (almost!) exactly?? same fuzzy pads that only foam a little, same price range, etc? although, the wave is great at keeping water out of the batteries. and, just buying buying the refill pads over and over, sooner or later wouldn’t that add up same amount as i spent on my clarisonic…?

    • the Muse

basically rainbow yup. like I said they are a dime a dozen at your local drugstore, everyone has one out 🙂 I think it would take considerably more time to rake up $200 plus the point of the post is budget friendly so many people aren’t wanting to dish out $200 right away or they don’t have $200 to splurge. It may be work out to be the same as a clarisonic in the long run but for those who can’t afford a clarisonic they may wish to indulge in a cheaper unit like this. 🙂

  • Stavroula Plag

That sounds very interesting!!! I’ll keep it in mind, because it’s not available in Greece yet! Thanks! 😉

  • Paloma

I love the morning burst facial cleanser, even at night, so this looks awesome! 🙂

  • Alexandra

I have dry skin and acne, will this irritate my skin more, or will it help get rid of my acne and not bother with my dry skin? Should I try it and use a moisturizing cream after? What’s your suggestion?

  • Mai

I bought this at CVS for a marked price of $17.19. I was hoping fo the bargain you mentioned but I guess I purchased too late. I LOVE this I don’t have a very large budget though.

      • Mai

Sadly, yes in California. But I love this product so much, It really helped awaken my tired complexion. Can I make a suggestion…If you wash old makeup remover wipes till they are clean with antibacterial soap you can cut them into circles and they will work great as replacements of the pads! Also as a great dupe of the scent you can make a mornig cleanser by mixing: two tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel, Three table spoons of pulp free citrus juice, half a teaspoon of witch hazel, half a teaspoon of glycerin, two table spoon of solid or liquid soap base.. I use this recipei as a morning cleanser and my skin feel awsome!!!
