Lancome French Coquettes Collection: Lancome Fall Collection 2010

Although a French Coquette sounds like something you’d purchase at a posh bakery, it’s not. You can’t technically eat or make a sandwich with a coquette, sorry.

A coquette is a tease or a flirt of some sort which is exactly what Lancome French Coquettes Fall Collection 2010 is all about. Flirty, tantalizing shades of shimmering shadows and subtle highlights on cheeks, makes for an elegant, sophisticated, yet fun collection.

Would you buy it?

If old world French Glamour is your thang, French Coquettes should appeal! Made up of deep plums, shimmering charcoals and sophisticated nudes this collection teams with both softer and vibrant shades of color for Fall 2010.

Beloved Lancome spokesmodels Daria Werbowy and Elettra Wiedemann make their first joint appearance in the ad campaign, shot by Mario Testino. I get a bit of a French flapper feel from the promo images, don’t you?

Some of the star products include the Lancome La Rose Deco, a multi-color powder compact for subtle radiance, Lancome Ombre Magnétique, a gel-like shimmery eye shadow that can go on lightly for a touch of shimmer or heavier for full-on drama and Lancome Le Vernis Nail Trio “Kissed By Paris,” a set of three mini polishes.

Both the powder and the new Lancome Color Design Limited Edition Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad in French Touch are highly appealing to this Muse. I’m in love with the Ombre Magnetique as well but one wonders if they are just the typical run of loose pigments however the shade Cherry doesn’t look easily duped by any of MAC’s pigments.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. It’s pretty… but not exactly a “Ah! I need this!” kind of collection.

      hi Kristina.

Not sure I’m at that point either but I am kinda digging the quad 😀

  • Phyrra

I really love the way they did the models’ makeup in the promo image. I think I can dupe all the colors used.

I actually think this collection is stunning. The colors are beautiful, especially the lipglosses and lipstick.

The quad looks awfully similar to the mini Stila Paris palette that I just got at Ulta. The models looks are Fantastic— thats my favorite kind of eye look:: smoky but not garish. The colors look similar to other brands fall releases so I will probably skip and just mimic the look with my own gobs of fall colors. I tend to shy away from Lancome products because quite often my skin gets upset from them.

I think I will skip this one,Except the Eyeshadows I don’t think the colour’s will flatter my skin tone.

Does Lancome sell the La Rose Deco separately? I couldn’t find it on Sephora.com 🙁

  • Gia

ooo that silver shimmer pot thing is mine! and the blush! So cute! I want to get that but I know I will think the flower is too cute and not want to ruin the blush! oh well!

I kind of am disappointed with the “pigments” as I thought they were powdery, like MACs. I do not feel comfortable with gel eyeshadows, as I do find them a bit tricky to blend, and they mess up my brushes. I was digging the silver toned one, but I think I am skipping this anyways. i saw the collection today, and I felt very disappointed with the blush. It is more of a brown than a pink, and the shimmer fades as soon as you put your brush in it, so nopers. Anyways, we didn’t get ANY of the eyeshadow quads and pigments here, we only got the mascaras, glosses, blush and lipcolours. Not even the nail colours. What kind of a collection is Lancome delivering to the Canary Islands?. As a consumer I feel pretty insulted by it, I think i should complain <3. *kisses*

Aw sorry to hear it lilly. After seeing it and swatching on counter I skipped it as well, it simply wasn’t what I expected. that stinks 😛 I hate when they cut up collections. We experience the same on occasion where Europe and Asia gets certain colors or products that we don’t GRRRRRR!

Def write them! I imagine they’ll change their mind if they hear from enough customers ;-D

      Hugs!!!!!
