Lancome L’Absolu Creme de Brilliance Review and Swatches

Lancome L’Absolu Creme de Brilliance you turned out exactly the way I was hoping Korres Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick would! You’re not really sure if you want to be a lipstick or a lipgloss but I’m not minding in the least as I love how you slick color on my lips, leaving behind a pigmented, glossy pout that looks part lippie, part glossy! Oh how your multitasking ways slay me!

Jump!

Lancome L’Absolu Creme de Brilliance is a shiny lip cream with a powerful anti-aging molecule that visibly replenishes lips!

I can’t speak for anti-aging benefits but Lancome L’Absolu Creme de Brilliance is a rather brilliant little multitasker that is enriching my Fall makeup wardrobe at the moment.

First off I do have to rave about the large flocked sponge applicator which piles on color beautifully well. The product is incredibly buildable for to a full pouty effect which I do blame on the larger flocked sponge. The sponge allows for easy, mess-free application.

Formula wise I feel like the product works both as a lip cream, gloss, and lipstick. It’s not a traditional lipstick by any means but it has an interesting creamy formula that does mimic one and falls outside the realms of a gloss however, have no fear, it will provide plenty of shine to flatter lips. I, for one, prefer my lipstick with a bit of gloss on top so this formula basically delivers the same effect in one product rather than two.

Pigmentation is pretty darn incredible as well and ranges on full coverage all the way around. These aren’t sheer or opaque by any means even with one layer in place, you’ll get plenty of color pay off. I tried three of the shades which seem to fit right in with my Fall color wardrobe however I was disappointed at the lack of shade selection (only 8 colors? WTH Lancome, we need more!).

Colors I tried were Sienna Ultime (rusty desert coral), Exotic Orchid (dusky mauve), and Rose Mystique (bright rose).

The colors all have a very sophisticated edge making them very work and evening friendly but still manage to come across fun as well.

Can’t believe they only have eight colors in this as I really enjoyed the formula but would have loved a wider range of shades to choose from. Kinda wincing at the $29 price tag as Lancome lip products are normally considerably cheaper don’t you agree? Blame it on the anti-aging ingredients I guess!

  • Those seeking a great lippie for Fall that multitasks as both a lipstick and a gloss!
  • Anyone who enjoys Lancome lip products (fairly easy to say you’ll love these if you’re a Lancome lip kinda girl).

  • Anyone not interesting in dishing out near $30 for a single lip product!
  • Anyone wanting a wide range of shades!

With an applicator that really creates a flawless lip look and formula that’s thick without being tacky or sticky and still long wearing, Lancome L’Absolu Creme de Brilliance brings some yay’s to my makeup table however the $29 price tag does make me second guess my next purchase plus the lack of variety in the shade department prevents me from getting too excited.

But hey….

You don’t run across such a supreme formula everyday plus if you’re looking for that perfect combination of both lipstick and gloss, these are it!

Worth a try.

I think you’ll love ’em as much as I did.

Nice!

    Wow!
I’m so glad these turned out great! I truly love Lancome and can’t wait to try them 🙂 Is it just me or are those large sponge applicators the absolute BEST for applying gloss?

    • the Muse

omg yes brittany. those sponge applicators are AWESOME wish mac would embrace the same!

  • Bora

Heh heh, we’re completely spoilt by the like of Makeup Forever so eight shades is not enough for a lipgloss release!

I own the Amande Sucree version and I must say its my fav nude lipgloss, when I want a natural look. Loved it so much I bought the lipstick version as well, so for a more nude intensity look I just layer the gloss on top of the lipstick.

I’m africian american and its been hell tryin to find a lipstick I can just put on and feel like I have a natural look going on. Not to mention the longevity of it and the way it feels on my lips is heaven;)
