Lorac Evening Out Complexion Kit Review and Swatches

Guerlain Parure Compact Foundation will set you back a whopping $78 bucks. Not necessarily a bad thing if you love gorgeous makeup but let me take a second to introduce you to the Lorac Event Out Complexion Kit which is just as gorgeous, just as luxe, and a fraction of the cost.

An all in one compact that features a perfecting, mattifying powder, two concealers, a full size mirror, puff, and applicators for an evening out on the town!

Lorac brings together an elegantly chic foundation/concealer combo that’s both practical and gorgeous with the new Lorac Evening Out Complexion Kit. Amply named, this compact is gorgeous enough to tuck into your purse for an evening out and whip out for touch ups in the ladies room while being the utter envy of everyone around you.

Seriously?

Packaging is killer.

It’s a rather thick compact that flips open to reveal a generous size mirror and a soft, silky setting powder but the fun doesn’t stop there. Lift the powder layer up to reveal a soft puff for application and a tiny brush applicator. What’s the brush applicator for? Why that’s for the stealthy little drawer that pulls out on the bottom of the compact to reveal two shades of concealer. Have I captured your attention yet with the geek-tastic packaging? I place a very high value on awesome packaging and Lorac nails it with this compact. It’s an elegant compact that’s remains practical but also highly appealing to ladies that want something that feels and looks substantially posh and chic. Of course, the fact that the powder is completely separate from the cream concealer prevents a mega mess from happening, score, for those of us wary of palettes that contain both powder and cream products.

The powder itself is subtly pigmented so it works best for blotting up excess oil, powdering your little nose, or evening out your complexion but not for full coverage foundation wearing. It’s finely milled with a silky matte finish that never looks dry or chalky. The concealers are a joy to work with as well. One concealer is best used for correcting as it has a strong yellow base that will combat dark circles and the other you can use on top to brighten and freshen up tired eyes. Formula is dense on the concealers but still remains quite hydrating even for those with drier eyes. I didn’t notice any fading, creasing, or settling into fine lines when using the concealer and felt it wore quite long throughout the day plus it was rather nice to have it inside the palette for quickie touch ups if needed.

The palette is $38 which could be considerably high for a mid-range cosmetic brand but take into consideration brands like Too Faced and Urban Decay that currently have powders that range for $32 and you aren’t getting super luxe packaging plus concealer.

The compact is pretty thick with a larger well for the puff and brush. It’s debatable whether or not Lorac could have gone a little skinnier with this simply because you have to take into consideration the concealer which is housed below the main two compartments. I don’t find it bulky personally but some may not think it’s so travel friendly.

  • Anyone who likes luxurious makeup items!
  • Anyone seeking an all in one style palette (you’ll have your powder and concealer in one place for traveling!).
  • Anyone who likes techy, geek-ish packaging (the stealthy little compartments appeal to my inner ninja!).

  • Anyone who wants a super slim powder compact (this runs thicker and a bit bulkier!)

Lorac created a real winner here in my opinion. It’s a high end compact that doesn’t sport a luxurious price tag. What more could a girl want? If you can’t afford Guerlain’s version, get Lorac’s and go home with $40 bucks more in your pocket!

Absolutely loves it!

A little piece of luxury with a tiny price tag.

Why do you make me want things?! I’m waiting for the UPS guy right now to bring me some pretties I got from Sephora and now I have to send him right back out and bring me this. I have no willpower. I love my Laura Mercier concealer but I can have this, too. Right?
